One of the shittest AB of the year that one was. Like, totally crap.

Strike 1 was right in Seiya’s wheelhouse to be crushed. Next pitch produced whatever that was.

Lmao

Those were the 3 most fukn horrible ABs by the top 3 hitters in lineup, not 1 good swing amongst them.

Wasted a great opportunity to win a game that was started by opponent top pitcher.

Awful

For anyone hoping the conditions wake up the Cubs offense, the wind is projected to blow in Saturday and Sunday, though its starting to blow out next week.

I'm curious how often the extra innings runner on second base never moves from second base... because it seems like it happens way more often than it should.

When you only watch the Cubs

LOL this offense.

Worst it's looked all year. I live outside Grand Rapids, MI surrounded by Tigers fans and my buddies are always telling me how great our offense is. They don't really know that our over inflated offensive numbers have come against the weakest teams with gas cans as starting pitchers. Haven't done much of anything against the good teams with good pitching. Especially in June, as I think we're now a game below the .500 Mark.

Throw a curve and this offense is cooked right now.

I'd say one or two of them were good, there were others not so good, including the one Tucker popped up.  They'll be another chance, Bednar will throw the same pitch and Tucker will crush it.

Maybe they should develop wind-in approaches and swings, like the B swing. Get on top of the pitch.

Not including today, the Cubs offense has a .229/.292/.382/.674 line over their last 16 games, averaging 3.4 rpg over the span.  Hopefully they get it going at some point in this long homestead.

For the Cubs it feels like they fail to move that runner over with the first batter way to many times.

Strange to say when we hit a bit better in April (.811 OPS) overall against tougher pitching than we did in May (.772 OPS) when the schedule got a lot lighter.

Right now all you can call this is ebbs and flows of a baseball season.  If they are still hitting like this into July then you can be concerned.

if the game threads are like this during an offensive slump, I can't wait to see what they're like when the cubs have an actual losing streak at some point

I think many of us had this one marked as a loss, frustrating that it was a game the Cubs very much could have won.  But, that's it for the Pirates, no more Skenes, think the Cubs have good chances to win the next two.

Pretty tame IMO....I'm new but overall you guys are taking a crappy loss quite well IMHO. Decades of losing can do that to anyone I suppose.
