There isn’t. They also lead the league in 10+ run games last time I checked. I swear people act like they’ve never watched baseball seasons before.

This is hilarious considering the post you made was “losing your mind” over 3 runs or less in 11 of their last 17.   Have you ever watched a baseball season before?

There’s a difference between pointing out a team is struggling offensively and drawing broad conclusions about the overall offense. I feel like I’ve said something like this every season for the last 20 years, are they as good as they were in April? Probably not, not many teams score 6.5-7 runs per game. Are they going to score 3 runs or less in 65% of their games? Also probably not.

There's 6 in a row for the Cardinals, be cool if they have 9 game winning and losing streaks in the same season.

Please show me the broad conclusion I’ve made.  I’ll wait.

Well for starters, stating that I was losing my mind over the offense.

Edit: oh actually your entire first post mocking people who think the offense is nothing to worry about is rich with implied broad conclusions too.

Actually I wouldn’t mind them winning a game or two the next 2 games. Milwaukee is now the bigger threat. Your hatred of the Cardinals really reminds me of the Sox fans who only cared about the Cubs losing. If a Cardinal win helps the Cubs I am all for a Cardinal win. But mainly, I try to just focus on the Cubs.

In the last 17 games the Cubs have played at Wrigley with the wind blowing in 7 times.  They've faced a legitimate Cy Young contender 5 times.  Yesterday they did both.  In the games where neither of the above factors were in play, they averaged 6.2 runs per game.

If you watch sports and can't draw a line between things like the quality of the opponent and the weather and how they might impact the game, it might be time to start challenging yourself a bit more.

It’s beyond facing these ace pitchers, it all started vs the Rockies. Vs Gore, Skubal, Flathery?, Wheeler, Luzzardo and Skenes they’ve put a whopping 3 runs on the board in 39 innings. Their mean ERAs including a Luzzardo who’s not tipping pitches is likely in the mid 2’s, not .7.

only silver lining I suppose is they’ve been worse in may and June since 2023. I think Dansby needs a day off too.

But the offense isn’t something to worry about. They may not be the top offense in baseball, but they are top 5. Even if they are not performing at the level that is comfortable to people right now you do have to realize the competition as well as the fact that during every baseball season every team slumps from time to time. That is what this is. A combination of quality pitching, weather conditions and possibly guys slumping which leads to lower runs. That doesn’t mean that the offense is a trouble spot to start worrying about. Honestly if you watch baseball every year you will see every team go through this yearly. Be happy they are playing .500 ball while not really hitting.

Hopefully it’s their typical May/June slump we’ve seen since 23 deferred by a month thanks to Tucker, an ascending PCA, easy schedule, and a bullpen that’s been lights out so far and unfortunately due for some regression. You’d think.

it started vs the Rockies and I assume this gauntlet of pitchers are the 6 they’ve faced since Gore. Problem is their ERAs average out in the mid 2’s, not .7 scoring 3/39 innings vs those 6. I think Swanson needs a day off too. He’s completely lost.

They played the Rockies with terrible weather and the wind gusting at 20-30 mph blowing in. Runs were not going to be scored in those games. Funny thing is if the wind was blowing out at 20mph for most of the Cubs home games we would be worrying about the pitching and saying how great the offense is. People need to step back and take a deep breath and relax. Baseball is a long season. Teams go through stretches all the time. They probably are not the top offense in baseball. But they are far from a problem.

It's kind of crazy how wildly different Wrigley plays from year to year.  I was going to say that this is the 2nd year in a row Wrigley has been death to hitters but the Park Factors says they are pretty much middle of the road this year (99 Park Factor).  Here is how we've fared in recent years:

2025: 15th (99)

2024: 29th (91)

2023: 9th (101)

2022: 16th (99)

2021: 7th (103)

2020: 24th (96)

2019: 15th (99)

2018: 11th (102)

2017: 8th (103)

2016: 26th (94)

2015: 13th (100)

Now do the 10 years before the video boards.

Thought about the Cardinals splitting the next two while the Cubs take care of the Pirates.  You’re correct, those are the best outcomes.  Sometimes hatred clouds reason and judgement.

Thats better gflore. 👍 You have come a long way in a short time. Glad to see you thinking more like a Cubs fan than a Sox fan😅 I mean really the best outcome is cardinals winning both and the cubs winning both. That would mean in the 4 game series each team played the Cubs would gain a game on both the Cardinals and Brewers. But…….baby steps!
