Let’s hope the White Sox can make the Brewers use up their bullpen today. Wishful thinking.

@Jason Ross I know you've already said you think the adjustments Rea has made are more real than smoke and mirrors.  Any data points to confirm that after another solid outing today?  Or are we still in wait and see what adjustments hitters make mode?

Series win on the road when going up against two top 15 pitchers in baseball YTD, outscored them in total by 13 runs. Will take it every time.

Happ finally gets to play a central team and hey, what do you know, wRC up to 117 on the year.

You guys all really hate Dansby huh

Someone mentioned the upcoming stretch vs MIL, SFG and NYM being tough.  I agree, still in MIL and SFG, you're facing lineups that pale in comparison to what we faced in LAD, AZ, SD, PHIL and TEX so, it's kind of a small break.

Wow - Brewers then Giants then Mets.  When does the “easy” schedule come?

Hot take: The Brewers are part of an easy two series stretch. Quinn Priester and Jose Quintana tomorrow and Saturday are two bad pitchers.

Nice to see the Cubs made Skenes and the rats walk the plank today. I originally would have thought a Win yesterday and a ? today but that's baseball.

The Vaunted Brewers are no longer vaunted. The Giants are paper tigers. Mets are tough

immediately after that....

6 against the 12-18 Marlins

3 against the 7-23 White Sox

3 against the 5-25 Rockies

3 against the 13-18 Nats

(with 2 series against the 16-15 Reds mixed in)

Actually, yes! I wrote about how much I like that he has gone away from the sinker. Guess what the home run was given up on? (Hint - it rhymes with Jesse Winker) He threw three sinkers, and the average exit velo was over 100mph. The 4-seam fastball was thrown 45 times and had an exit velo of 87mph.

The bad today was that the whiff was way down, but he threw less strikes. I talked about zone-leverage likely being pretty important for him. Whether that's a function of a bad offensive team or what, I'm unsure. I thought (from the little I saw) he looked less sharp today? He also didn't use the sweeper much - I wish he used it more - he had used it around 10% of the time and he only threw it once today.

Counterpoint: Mets have played Miami, Toronto, Minnesota, St Louis, and Washington.  Those teams are a combined 66-87.  The Mets are 14-6 in those games.

I agree. We don't what the Mets are right now based on who they played. Maybe they are good, maybe not but I like the Cubs chances against them.

I mean, we probably have a pretty good idea that they're good. Lindor, Soto, Alonso aren't some up and comers riding hot streaks.

Throw in Vientos, Marte and Nimmo, who always seems to hit the Cubs well, and you've got fairly dangerous lineup.  I like the Cubs chances against the Brewers and Giants, neither of them have anyone scary in their lineups.
