That call on Lopez was the worst but he's gotten at least a half dozen others that were similar.  Strike one to Seiya in his first AB was particularly impactful since it would have made it 2-0.

How would the inconsistency hurt. He gave Skenes the benefit of the doubt on every pitch. He would have walked several more if it weren’t for the umpire. I think Skenes was just off today.

I would have considered another inning for Rea with the bottom of the order due, him only at 73 pitches, and this being the 3rd game of 9 straight without a day off.
