What happens with Workman? Does he have to be offered back to Tigers?

My understanding is that he can be picked up by any team, though they would be bound to maintain his Rule 5 status and keep him on their 26 man roster. If he is not selected by anyone, he would go back to Detroit, which would cost them $50k.

Cubs have played the Dodgers, Padres, Diamondbacks, Rangers and A's.

Those teams are 10-15 against the Cubs.

They are 61-31 otherwise.

Correct! Even the A's are a .500 team if you remove the 3 games vs the Cubs.

I’m not too bummed Hollowell went back to Iowa. He got squared up pretty good last night

To be a bit fair, the three guys who squared him were Freeman, Betts and Edman which are two HoF'ers (likely) and Tommy Edman on the heater of his life. Tough inning.

But yeah, I'm indifferent. He's fine, he's got some funk. But he's not so good you have to keep him.

I noticed Seiya landed weird when he hit the deck on an inside pitch last night. For some reason he didn’t let go of the bat and most of his weight seemed to be on the right hand on the bat.

Turner will bat 3rd because Craig Counsell is Dusty Baker in disguise.

Like to see Hoerner moved up to 2nd, Tucker 3rd and Turner at 6 or 7. But it is going to be Turner just taking Suzuki’s spot🤮

Off day tomorrow, give Suzuki some rest, hopefully good to go for the Phillies series.  Cubs always seem to lose these type of games anyway, favorable pitching match ups both for and against just never seem to fall their way.  Even though it's annoying as all hell I'd rather be cautious now to pay off later.

Just put him on the IL and call up Ballesteros, this way either he or one of the 2 catchers can DH. Rather them then Turner

Seems a bit extreme, doesn’t it. Or do you know something more about his wrist?

I know lineup construction isn't a huge deal but you can't just throw Grandma in between our two best hitters.

Sure, you don't want to throw anyone off too much,  but I'm sure Carson Kelly would love to be in that spot for a night.

That's low.  Take that back

Turner is so cooked, shades of Hosmer

Hosmer wasn’t old as horsefeathers like Turner at least.

Funny Alex Cohen saying the 1st innings yesterday was 25 minutes and it was “the longest 25 minutes he’s ever felt”. Before the pitch clock, it probably would have been a 45-50 minutes 1st innings. How much time is being saved without all the fluff that baseball used to have?
