It’s pretty wild that CJ Stroud’s current season is comparable, if not worse, than Caleb Williams rookie season. Good evidence of Kyle’s consistent point to give QBs two full years to really evaluate them.

not that I think Stroud is bad or anything, but that he came down to earth slightly from last year. Still a good effective QB, but his development is not just up up and away without any bumps in the road

That's one of several reasons I'm not too worried about Jayden Daniels (another being draft classes are fake competition).

The best rookie sometimes turns into the best QB from the class, but it's not the most common outcome

If Daniels ends up better than Caleb but Caleb is still a great QB, oh well. I won’t cry over it, who cares. We got a great QB. Scouting professional quarterbacks is probably the hardest least understood position in all of sports (maybe pitchers are harder, but it’s a very hard comparison to make between sports), and I still wouldn’t consider it a miss.

I’m still concerned about Daniels’s body type lasting well over a career. Williams has been shockingly durable in a season where’s he’s taken more hits than one would like. Knock on wood.

Sigggh the Seattle news is all excited about Pete being interested in the bears job, but man I don’t want him, I don’t see him as someone who the players would respond well too. Too old

He’s not at all what I had in mind.  But it’s difficult to ignore the SB and all the playoff appearances.  He’d want total control, probably.

Still holding out hope that Shanahan or Stefanski gets let go, but I can’t imagine a candidate out there better than Ben Johnson besides those two. I just don’t have any hope in the Bears to get the obvious right candidate. George or Warren or Poles will probably want a leader of men instead of getting the clear choice football coach and we’ll be right back in the same spot in 3 years. In 2013 they passed on coach-of-the-year Bruce Arians for Trestman and last year they didn’t even interview Harbaugh.

I think I'd rather have gotten Quinn/Kingsbury over Harbaugh.

I assume vrabel is going to the Patriots

Vrabel's rumored OC target is Josh McDaniels. That would be pretty crazy to see him back in New England again.

Kyle isn’t correct. And I’m not sure if he’s Autistic or a garden variety horsefeathers.

wanting garbage time numbers and then complaining that people are saying he’s getting garbage time numbers is, I don’t know, dumb? It doesn’t matter whether Williams is getting those numbers or not.

then the fact that he separates himself from lesser beings is icing on the horsefeathers cake.

Kyle says a lot of stuff that is binary and we don’t often live in a binary world. Then he calls it “vibes”. He has a vibe too.

With either the Bears are probably 10-5 or 11-4.

Why would you want those guys over someone like Harbaugh who has had success everywhere he’s gone?

The Bears’ roster is nowhere near that good. Both the offensive and defensive lines are far below average and you can’t be 11-4 with lines that bad no matter who is coaching.

A bit ambitious on my part, it's good bet they're 8-7 or 7-8 with those coaches.

Another person who believes we live in a magical world where things happen just because I want them.

I want the Bears to win today.  That does not mean the Bears will win today, and I will not be weird for complaining if people say they won if they didn't, just because I wanted it to happen.

I'm sorry if facts are inconvenient to your vibes.

I would also like to point out that I wasn't even the person who brought up that people were saying Williams gets garbage time stats.  I offered an explanation for it, but I didn't actually complain about it. But again, I'm sure the actual facts of what happened are irrelevant somehow.

Well, unlike last week I'll be watching this game so I get to freak out, overreact, and at the end of the evening be sad.

Meanwhile, Seattle is moderately competent and Braxton Jones is hurt again (as is Jenkins, shock shock).

So I assume it will be full offensive clown shoes sad times

I believe the Bears should make an offer to Jenkins, I don't know if or how much it can be based upon availability which should be part of the offer.  If he chooses to move on, so be it, there's no fear of him suddenly becoming an iron man.  I remember him getting injured and coming out of game when literally no one was around him nor was he engaged.

I really, really want DJ Moore to completely ball out.  Like 1.5 million dollars want.

He said he’s looking forward to vacation time. He’s been checked out for some time.

Im neutral on resigning Jenkins. If you do, I assume you're getting a discount for his lack of availability.  If you don't, you're just giving another free agent guard the same money and they'll probably come with baggage too.  Roster turnover is probably good for the bears in general this off-season though.

Meanwhile, when Caleb Williams takes the snap tonight, he will tie the Bears franchise record for seasons with 16+ starts

There is nothing on this team right now to freak out or overreact, so my suggestion would be just take it for what it's worth. If we lose, which we will most likely be doing, enjoy the fact they are not hurting their draft position for next year. If they win, let's hope it's because Caleb is awesome. Meanwhile, with some traffic cone or dude from Sec. 124, row 17 seat 4 standing it at LT tonight, I don't have much hope for Caleb to be awesome, so I'll just hope for good instead.

hes still the Bears leading WR, and has a decent shot at 1k yards. I thought that was crazy because he hasnt had a big game this year and has been largely ignored. One big game gets him over 1k tho

Mercifully I am about to board a flight which should keep me in the air for the entirety of the game. Couldn’t have timed it better to catch exactly none of the game
