No NFL week 6 thread so I'll talk about Lions - Vikings here, wouldn't surprise me if the Lions blow the doors off the Vikings next week.  Watched the highlights of Jets - Vikings, that game was definitely more of Aaron Rodgers being bad than is was the Vikings being good.  Darnold is going to regress and Jets game may have been the start - 14-31-179-0TD-1INT, rating of 50.3.

Jags pass defense is terrible.  They've given up 3 300 yard passing games, and the bills combined for like 270 and 4 TDs.

The only QB to not light them up is Watson.

The only issue this week is the possibility of London causing weirdness

Yup. Good news is they are flying out tonight. I think when they played the Raiders out there, they left on Friday and they looked like horsefeathers

Rodgers was cheeks yesterday. He looked like several other sure fire HOFers who have overstayed their ability to compete at a high level. Accuracy was always great for him. He threw several that weren't even close

It was quite marvelous.

I enjoyed seeing him get pummelled

I was having a conversation with a childhood friend and longtime packer fan about rodgers. he claims that packer fans too are happy to see him lose because he was such a PITA at the end of his career. There is part of me that wishes he would succeed all the way to the AFC champ, and then lose, just as Love fails misearably

As much as a certain rapper fall from grace. Aaron Rodgers seems to make his name destroying bad NFC North teams but when he had to play legitimate good teams, he wets the bed.

Brisker out with a concussion

Dang that really sucks. He's been magnificent this year.

I know the NFL ain't gonna stop with these international games but boy howdy do I hate them and almost always the quality of play is garbage because the players are all out of whack in a foreign place.

He was able to count on 4 relatively easy wins most years between the Bears and Lions.  Always nice.  But at the end of the day the Jets are just terrible, they ruined Darnold who looks decent with MIN, and now they are hoping for an old man to save them from themselves.

Guess I skipped ahead, Lions - Vikings is a week 7 match up.

So Brisker is technically NOT ruled out yet. He didn't travel with the team last night, but he still has a chance to clear concussion protocol and catch a later flight to join the team before Sunday.

He self-reported concussion symptoms. So I'm assuming he'll get evaluated today and tomorrow to confirm if there is a concussion or not. If it was just a migraine or something, he could still play.

That being said, see you after the bye Jaquan.

Why don't they make them wear those soft covers on their helmets all the time?

At some point they will, but it's only voluntary now. If/when they mandate them, they will grandfather in older players (like they did with helmets, and then visors, in the NHL)

3rd season in a row Brisker has been in concussion protocol. With the bye next week just let him rest up and come back on the 27th

That was pretty clear to see in the forced fumble play. The dude lowered his head into Jaquan's and they hit hard.

Yeah i was surprised he stayed in the game after that.

Also offensive players need to be called for helmet to helmets.  Yeah like 95% of the time it's on the defender but that was a textbook example of the defender doing nothing wrong and the unnecessary collision still happening.

For you power rankings fanatics that may or may not be UM fans....

Sagarin has updated his ratings for this NFL season now that we're 1/4 of the way in: http://sagarin.com/sports/nflsend.htm

Notables:

- The Bears are the 12th overall and 6th best NFC team behind Detroit, Minnesota, San Fran, Green Bay and Philly, just ahead of Dallas and Atlanta. Feels about right?
- The Bears have played the softest schedule thus far, and have lost the only two games they've played against potential playoff quality teams.
- The NFC North is by far the best division in football this season.
- Weighted by recent play, the Bears are 8th overall, still 4th in the NFC North behind #1 Minny, #4 Detroit and #5 GB.

They'll never consistently call that, because refs are creatures of habit. They already put an emphasis on it, so you will see it at times, but it'll never be enough to stop guys from lowering their head like that.

Bears have a better record than 2 of those teams (with the caveat Philly has only played 4). Of course, Washington has a better record than almost all those teams.

I also like looking at point differential, especially early in the year. It feels like that tells you how good teams actually are with all the varying data early. And right now only the Vikings, Commanders, and the 2-3 Saints have a better point diff than the Bears.......with the caveat that 26 of their 28 point diff happened Sunday.

Aren't the partially lowering their head close to impact more of a fumble preventative measure, since lowering your head lowers the rest of your body some and reduces the chances of impact on the football.
