They aren't going to trade a solid MLB pitcher for a couple of mid prospects in high A.

If it'll take 36 mil off the book, I bet he would, and it doesn't have to be A ball.

Taking money off the books for the sake of taking it off the books isn't getting you anywhere.  That performance has to get replaced somehow, and expecting and of the Cubs SP prospects to jump in and replace Taillon's innings next year is completely unrealistic.

A couple months ago I’d be all about this. But with Assad, Wesneski, Brown, Horton, and Wicks all having varying degrees of uncertainty for the 2025 rotation, I’m a little more leery of letting Taillon go. I still think you can probably use your prospect depth to go get a higher ceiling, cheaper SP for next year in the offseason. And then reallocate that money towards the offense.

Was about to make a sh.it joke about not needing to win tonight, as we aren’t in the division race, if that baseball had gone out for a 3 run HR.

You’ve all been spared.

Or they could just use those prospects to get a cheap bat and keep a solid, reliable, not too expensive MLB pitcher.

So Mastrobouni will hit for Amaya who has been hot. Very not on board with these pinch hitting decisions.

oh you didn’t like the guy hitting .220 vs lefties pinch hitting for the guy hitting .320 vs lefties?
