These teams combined for 11 runs total in the first 3 games, so of course the game where we "break out" for 5 runs, they match us.

Shucks, the 19th reliever on our depth chart isn’t very good.

I just said the exact same thing to a buddy.

The Cubs currently have 17.1 bWAR (from 2023) on the IL and are basically tied for first place.  It certainly hasn't been pretty but the record with that much production sidelined is pretty impressive.

Lol, why wouldn’t you throw to 1st base? PCA would have easily been out.

Might be time for Gomes to come up with a stiff back and go on IL for a couple weeks.

Bring up Ali Sanchez to backup

I'm all for having patience this time of year but Gomes looks pretty washed all the sudden.

He is a nearly 37 year old Catcher, so it was bound to happen.  He was great last year and is still worth having on the roster, but Amaya (who hasn't been great either) definitely needs to get more of the starts as the season moves on.

Who? Probably Casali would be the guy who comes up. Who are you talking about?

I'm calling it, Happ goes deep this inning

If that happens you need to go pick numbers and play the lottery.

Into a count, maybe. Pitches probably get too deep to hit with any authority.

Ali Sanchez started the season on Pittsburgh's roster (in spring training), was cut and the Cubs scooped him up.  Has a .900 OPS in Iowa so far

Damn, did not expect Tauchman to swing and miss on ball 4

Looks like he decided to swing before that pitch was even thrown.
