Solid work from Brown so far.  Anybody have any idea if he's on a particular pitch count or innings limit?

Both Mets and Cubs pitching has been great OR both Cubs and Mets hitting has been horrendous. So which is it?

Mets have played really good defense this game.

We are not there yet...he has to face some tougher teams and he has to face some teams a second time.  But we're moving towards a point with Brown where you're not even worries about performance you're just counting innings and pitches like they're ammo and trying to gameplan out volume.

Hoyer might be getting a few calls in July from teams with an interest in his young SPs...  might be able to snag a big young bat for one

Yep. Beginning to think they can manage innings of Wicks, Assad, Wesneski, Brown and maybe later this year, Horton to fill 4th and 5th and maybe even sometimes 6 spot in the rotation. The leash on Hendricks may, rightfully so, be very short. They can also add an arm at the deadline, if they need to.

Not sure I like that idea at the trade deadline. They need all of those guys to limit innings. But could be a good idea in the off season.

Time for little nicki and his soft grounders to head back to Iowa...

Give Vasquez an opportunity as he can play SS, 2B, OF, and he has played 4 games at 3B this year in Iowa.
