Real Jake Taylor vibes

It actually was a "nice throw, dickhead" earlier this game though

I might have missed one in my looking through baseball reference, but that appears to be the first Cubs extra inning win since 1992

I just want to state that I still hate these stupid extra innings rules

Surely I am reading this wrong? First of all the Cubs won Game 7 of the world series in extra innings… I am reading it wrong, aren’t I? 😛

To clarify, it’s our first regular season extra innings win since 1992

That is a stolen win. Nice to be on the right side of this type of game.

2 games in a row really with all the baserunners late for the Mariners and getting bailed out by 2 gidps.

I will now say that these 2 games combined make up for the blown 8-0 lead in San Diego in my mind.

It absolutely does not make up for the deflected liner that Dansby let drop which almost singlehandedly cost the Cubs the playoffs last year but I digress

IDK if it was, AZ offense was worse than ours. We got lucky that the FB to Tauchman wasn't 10 feet deeper.

Eh. The Diamondbacks were equally terrible. I guess the 2 base wild pitch to tie the game was pretty lucky, but I’m sure the DBacks would have felt pretty lucky squeaking by being outhit 9-3 too.

It may not have been 'lucky', but I had chalked this game up as a loss at multiple points.  It surprised the hell out me that they won.

Of course that would be the stat, I am a bit slow. And now I am just amazed that 5000+ regular season games haven’t produced an extra innings win until tonight.

I guess I’m just looking at it from the perspective that had the Cubs taken the lead in the bottom of the 8th (even with only 3 hits), and the opposing team scored on a two-base wild pitch. And then if they ended up losing in extras, we’d feel the Cubs gave one away.

I fell asleep after we didn’t score in the 10th. Expected to wake up to a loss, so this is a pleasant surprise

Huge win.  Cubs have locked in at least 6-6 during this gauntlet 12 game stretch.

Also as one of the people who first raised the alarm about Keegan, if he's sitting almost 95 and throwing strikes that's the whole game.  I won't trust him for a bit longer yet but last night is exactly what it would look like if he was officially back.  And man the pen could use it.

Yeah, I'm pleasantly surprised. His Triple-A data, especially this year, looked horrible. He looked toasted. I don't know what's happened, or why he's gone from 91mph to hitting 95mph in,,,a weekk, but Keegan at 95 mph plays.

I'm more than happy to look like the idiot who wrote an article on Friday about how bad I thought he was going to do, only to end up with egg on my face.
