Alzolay, Neris, Leiter, and Almonte are all presumably down tonight.  So if we want a W here the offense likely needs to bludgeon a very good SP in Kelly.

Maybe Smyly piggybacks Brown and they win 5-1 or something like that. Maybe we see Little or Thompson in a high leverage moment. Considering it would be them instead of Almonte and/or Neris I am not that concerned. But Lieter and Alzolay not available is a bit concerning.

Agree.  They'll need to depend on Smyly, Little, Thompson, Palencia.  Hopefully offense can provide a cushion and Brown pitches well

I'm hoping that it's not a "piggy back."  His pitch count should be in the mid 80's, low 90's tonight, so he may actually be able to go 6 or maybe 7 innings without feeling the need to get him out early.   Even if he throws 15 pitches an inning, that would get him out of the 6th.  No piggy back needed.

I agree he should be able to go 90 pitches. I just meant him followed by Smyly and hopefully Smyly can close it out. Smyly can go 3+ if need be. I think expecting Brown to go 7 and be at 90 pitches is very hopeful and probably not happening. I would be happy if he got through 6, tbh.

These obviously relate to the next series but I'm going to post them here

We do draw Luzardo, but otherwise this Marlins series looks about as opportune timing wise as you could possibly draw up.

We probably get Cabrera too.
