How is this going to work?  It's never worked in the past.  Bears try this all the time.  They obviously won't ever learn.

Kind of surprised the bears are hosting a game in London next year. Opponent TBD. I like a little 9 am kickoff now and again.

While I do like the early starts, 8 am for me here, it's the only redeeming quality of games on foreign soil.

I was bored and I looked at Fields's stats now that the season is over and... While I think, from the eye-test, he was better as a passer this year, his numbers are virtually identical to last year.

The Yards Per Attempt are nearly the same, the adjusted Y/A are identical, the Yards Per Catch are identical, the success rate is just a tick higher. The TD% is slightly lower, the INT% is down a percentage.

He averaged 50 more yards a game but thats more of a function of throwing more, not more efficiently.

The only number that changed significantly is he cut his Sack rate down by 4%, but its still way too damn high.

I think its very hard to justify passing on a QB given these numbers.

Bears requesting to interview Seahawks OC Shane Waldron. A lot of people like him around the league, I can’t say I know much about him, other than the fact he resuscitated Geno Smiths career (impressive in its own right)

Overall the Seahawks’ offense is blah. I’m not seeing how hiring the OC of a team that finished behind the Bears in YDS/G is going to boost the Bears’ offense.

Dave Wannstedt told Parkins and Spiegel today that two years ago Harbaugh was interested in the Bears job, but the Bears weren't interested in him. I just don't understand this organization. Harbaugh has won everywhere he went and develops QBs, but you had to hire the DC with the Colts?

He's too much of a wild card personality for the McCaskeys.  They dealt with Ditka and don't want to go through that circus again.  Plus they likely hate the idea of giving a head coach the amount of control over the roster as Harbaugh would likely want.

Just my 2 cents.

It's crazy to look at Mitch's numbers with Chicago and think "well, those aren't so bad" and he can't even hold down a back up job around the rest of the league.

We're so bereft of QB Goodness we barely know what it looks like.

The rushing makes him appear way better because those plays are marvelous to behold.

God I really hope the market for Fields is good enough to get a 2nd rounder, honestly

If the most Bears thing happens - they keep Justin and trade down, how does the offense succeed?  I guess loading up on the OL is where Poles has to start.  Trading down will probably facilitate focusing on the OL and taking a WR.  But, then working around the slow drop back, the slow release, holding on to ball too long, inconsistencies with reading a zone or making hot reads vs. a blitz, these deficiencies really limit an OC.  Maybe there's someone who can convince Justin to trust what he sees and let it rip that would help.

It’s not very bears to have a former player go on and have great success in another place. Most disappointing former bears go on and stink in other places.

Just to play devil's advocate, neither QB ever had an elite OL or anything close to it. The 2 times in my life where 1-5 was solid-great, they went to the SB in the window. They are just braindead when it comes to this. Cutler suffered from this horsefeathers too. horsefeathers J'Marcus Webb lmao.

I think Justin can be a very good QB if you give him an elite Oline that gives him 10 seconds a play to throw, and an elite WR corps. But I also think...that applies to most pro level QBs, so it's not a really useful insight.

INTs would skyrocket.  A QB holds the ball because he’s not confident where he’s throwing it.  I’ll wager most of the time he’s right - he shouldn’t be confident.

Fake /troll account

But a legit Athletic reporter was running with some Caleb speculation today.  Which may have inspired Wes there.

Critically though, if you get through the whole thread, her last post is wrong. Caleb can't elect to bypass the Draft to enter the Supplemental Draft. He'd have to somehow become ineligible, which I don't even know what that would be. But it's not even a guarantee he'd be granted Supplemental draft eligibility if he figured out a way to apply.

We sure this guy isn't asking for ownership stake?

It doesn’t matter what you asked for. The nfl won’t allow it.

it is very smart for QBs to try and avoid Chicago. They’re bad at this
