At this point I'd think the likely scenario is the Bears ending up 7-10, losing to Cleveland and GB while beating Arizona and Atlanta. I'll just about guarantee 1 thing as though, unless the Bears lose the next 3 games, if they beat GB in week 17, Eberflus is back. Something disastrous would have to happen for Poles to go anywhere.

Yeah. I assume 2-2 one way shape or form. Also agree that going from an intentional tank 3 win season to 7 will be justification by them to keep Eberflus, especially with a GB win.

but goddamn, if Eberflus stays, who the hell is mentoring the incoming QB to start his career? This has disaster written all over it.

I'm not totally out on Flus anymore, because the defense has clearly come together and the team continues to fight hard and he seems like a good CEO type, but I am completely unconvinced that Getsy should stay. There doesn't seem to be a cohesive gameplan most weeks, even considering Fields' propensity to hop in the pocket and struggles to make reads

I’m not sure I buy the CEO type. His DC was ousted and so was a rb coach. And they haven’t been able to line up a succession plan. The biggest job going into 2022 was finding a way to get the most out of Fields, and that clearly hasn’t happened. They have rebounded nicely but that seems to be more about his defensive coordinating than leading the organization.

Very good player but that has Jay Cutler trade written all over it.

Given the quality of QB prospect they can just draft, I say no.  If it was a different prospect pool I'd probably be more swayed

Yeah I really like Herbert but I don't think I do that.

I figured that was a joke.

Thinking on it more I'd do 1.01 and 2025 1st I think.

Or 1.01 + Bears 2024 but also need a couple decent picks back like Chargers 2025 2nd and extra.

Like he's definitely at least a perennial 6-12 QB as basically a floor. Not sure hes a future All Pro and HOF, but he's very good. That's worth 1.01 and a bit extra, but depending on where Bears pick ends up, there's a little evening out needed.

My first reaction was obviously yes. Two firsts for a 25-year-old borderline top-5 QB?

But our two firsts this year are more like 4-5 generic firsts. I'd still probably do it but it's close.

My first reaction is no way, but I think that’s dumb and a no brainer to say yes. It’s a shame Fields would have no use to them, since they’d presumably get a qb with the first. You’d have to try and get a second somehow for him.

I feel like the Universe is bending to make the final week of the season a 'win and in' game between the Bears and Packers.

I don't know how much my heart can handle a repeat of '2013 Chris Conte Falls Down.'

Eddie Jackson is totally primed for that type of play

That's one of the few Bears games I've been to and it was by far the worst live sports experience of my life, closely followed by the mausoleum atmosphere created by one pitch Rich against the DBacks.
