Kyle Pitts is one of the most tragically under utilized talents in the NFL that I can remember. It just blows my mind the level of RB/WR/TE talent they have and the offense is still bad. It's like the perfect nightmare storm of a bad QB and a coach that just refuses to even consider moving off his philosophy to suit the talent he has.

Random thought, but I think there's about a 0% chance Khalil Herbert is a Bear next year. They've finally realized his blocking is far too awful to put him out there. He only had 6 carries against the Vikings and on Sunday and he only had 3 against the Lions. Whether it comes via trade or simply being cut, I don't see him being rostered next year. Roschon is going to be your guy and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they re-sign Foreman on a 1 year deal.

Maybe.  I don't think he'll ever be a lead back but he is still highly effective when used properly.  He's still on a rookie deal so I don't see a reason to straight up cut him when he can be an effective change of pace back and I don't know how much value he'd have in a trade.  I see them keeping him but as a 3rd RB.

I'm okay with Herbert being in the same role as he was with the #2 HB behind Montgomery (now Johnson).

Since there's not a bunch of picks but numerous holes, I'd try and keep this current unit.

I agree with the consensus as far as holding onto Fields unless there's an impact return.

I can't believe I still go back and forth whether or not to start Fields next year and not draft a QB at all and use two top 15 picks on (WR and BPA).

I would have to think about trading with AZ if they were to offer (3, 22, 69) for the #1.

See he'd be the trade deadline target next year. Maybe you add another day 3 rookie who's promising and just have a loaded RB room and some team with an injury needs throws you sixth which you pocket like a de facto comp pick.

You see how he can't block on pass plays though, right?  It's embarrassing.  If he's in there and you think it's a pass -- auto-blitz.

I don't like RBs who make it obvious what the defense should do just by virtue of them being in the game.

I'd like them to bring Foreman back. But I'd also like a speed back brought in. Someone with that dynamic breakaway ability out of the backfield. Potentially even a guy you can line up wide or in the slot and can moonlight as a WR. Obviously, Devon Achane is all the rage this season and he's that exact type of guy I'm thinking. Of course, he's not available and this looks to be a bigger, slower RB class in general. But there is quite the FA market with guys like Barkley, Pollard, Ekeler, and Jacobs all hitting the market again, But there's also guys like Jerrick McKinnon and Antonio Gibson who could fill that role as well.

Those big names may not hit the market, but I wouldn't shy away from them, especially with a rookie QB. The Bears stand to lose Mooney, ESB and already lost Claypool at WR so they could use 1 more guy in case a draft pick or Scott don't take on as big of a role as we'd like them to,

Herbert has not looked right at all since coming back and its actively hurting the team. I don't know if he's still hurt or what, but he doesn't have the burst or the vision he had beforehand.

Roschon is clearly the better option at this point, and Foreman is probably the best back on the roster.

Dang, that sucks for Ngakoue, though he's been nothing more than A Guy all season. Don't know especially what our depth is at End but it does suck to lose a guy who's at least serviceable.

1st and 15th, mind you. There is nothing wrong with that scenario

If they miss the playoffs by one game and their pick is 15, that would be great. It meant this team did good. And they already have a top 2 pick

This doesn't matter much to me. I think the defense hangs with them regardless. The offense putting up points is major hurdle the Bears are going to have to overcome to win on Sunday.

I literally do not give a single horsefeathers if their second 1st round pick drops from 5th overall to 15th overall

Maybe that makes me an irrational Bears homer, but I'll take an 8-9 season thats enjoyable to watch over a 5-12 season where they get slightly higher with their other pick

8-9 wins will save flus' job but yes i don't really care about dropping to the mid 1st with our own pick

in theory, the guys that are on the roster next year will have more confidence that they're close to contending, we'll look more attractive to FAs and coordinators/position coaches, the front office might get aggressive with win now moves, etc. and we still should get a solid starter with a mid 1st rounder
