So happy I still haven’t had a single friend/relative tell me how much they like him.

I think he’s hilarious on GameDay. Then again, I don’t watch the show much anymore. I just see clips mostly.

Much like the Bama game, I think Michigan was the better team but Washington definitely had some chances. They just didn't play well enough.

Physically, Michigan dominated in the trenches. Generally, that means you win handily.

Did Penix see any pressure all year? He makes really bad decisions when even slightly rushed

Not like Michigan had tonight. They played in a weaker Pac12

welcome to the big 10 wuf wuf

I know everyone hates Michigan but sorry I'm so horsefeathers happy.  I was horsefeathers 14 when this happened last.  Can't believe they actually did it.

He saw a lot of pressure in the Washington State game.  18-33, 204 yds, 2 TD and a pick.

Football is the worst sport so it doesn't matter but there was a bowl game thread this whole time and nobody noticed

I don't know whats up with JJ though, I wouldn't be surprised if he had an MCL injury agianst PSU and has just been grinding through it.  Completely different QB than earlier in the year.  Yes I get it, they played a very weak schedule early and there are those sign stealing allegations but I still think something is up with him.  On the bright side he might just come back now.

Penix might have dropped pretty far in draft mocks. He did not give me much confidence that he could handle an NFL pass rush.

He's a lefty so they always look a little odd, but his footwork and body alignment looked awful. He has the size and arm strength to become a project for an outstanding QB coach. In the right situation, he could develop.

His processing looked light years faster than Fields.  I think most of the 4th quarter has to be discounted because of what I'm betting is a cracked rib he was trying to protect that affected almost every throw, but I agree he just looked a little discombobulated in general in terms of throwing motion.  Too many floating 50/50 balls even before he got hurt too.  McCarthy didn't really impress me at all either.

His processing looked faster than Fields because he was in shear panic mode. In season games, he would read progress much slower and methodically, but against much softer pass rushes. He will likely struggle against an nfl pass rush

At the end of the day football is still a physical game. If you tackle well and can run the ball you will be hard to beat. I think thd reason Alabama and Georgia are who they are is because the play this way with high level recruits. Michigan's doesn't recruit at that level but they developed players. I know Washington kept it close because they brought their safties up and Michigan was reluctant to take advantage. But in the end Michigan was just way more physical and it really showed in how many Washington players were getting banged up

He has a tendency to throw flat-footed/off his back foot because he has such a strong arm, but that's terrible mechanics that won't translate well. Someone needs him how to step into a throw. There's a reason Patrick Mahomes is the outlier and not the norm in terms of throwing motion (because Mahomes is a freak of nature)

Penix looks like the type of excellent prospect if you're looking for a QB in like the 3rd round or something. But given his injury history and etc. I would never ever ever draft him in the 1st round. Holy moly.

And McCarthy, aside from a nice scramble, did not impress me much at all. I still don't understand why he's talked about like a big time prospect.

I don't remember if it was here or somewhere else but someone speculated he's basically playing on one leg and has been for the second half of the season.  I'm not sure if that makes enough of a difference, but I'm definitely of the same mind as you on him.
