Yes, improvements are happening, they're taking longer than any of us hoped for, but he is improving.  Whether or not it's enough, we will see in the last 6 games.

This game will be a big test, if isn't overwhelmed by the blitzes and instead exploits them and lights up the Vikings.  Then, maybe, we have something good going.

And if he fails in this game, then really it's the last five games that will tell us something...

Given he's never been able to take advantage of teams blitzing he probably will fail.  The most frustrating aspect is I'm certain the Vikings are going to leave all kinds of openings that any kind of a competent NFL QB would torch.

Just looking at Minnesotas schedule and they’ve really not beaten any good qbs this year. The closest is Purdy who’s about the most good enough on a great team qb you can get. He went 21-30 for 272, 1 td and 2 int. They’ve beaten Young, Fields, Love, Heinicke and Winston.
Fields really has to play well in this game to hang onto any hopes. A win isn’t the determining factor, with this team and coaching staff. But he’s got to have a good game.

I'd go a step further and say he has to have a good game passing.

Last night I was listening to The Score and Hub Arkush was on with the later shift. I hadn't been listening to sports radio much lately, but holy crap was he carrying water for Eberflus and company, saying we can't blame the coaching staff when the Bears have the youngest roster in the NFL, they're basically starting this season from scratch, and the coaching staff is still teaching the players how to play football, so we can't blame the coaches for the players' screwups.

Gotta protect that access, baby!

Absolutely. Other than Center, this is his OLine now and next year. If he can't find success with this Line against decent/good teams consistently, there won't be a next year for him here. I really, really, really don't want to see the Bears have to use a top draft pick this year on a QB.

Do not understand, the roster is improved however, in many ways Everloss has regressed, which is baffling.  I think we're seeing Poles can find players - TJ Edwards is having a pro bowl season, Nate Davis has played well, his draft picks are coming around -

By the way, Dexter with less snaps than Carter and, also, not surrounded by elite pass rushers.  Zacch Pickens also showed in the last game along with Tyrique Stevenson and when, he comes back Terrell Smith, Braxton Jones. Now Poles needs to find coaches.

If they want to give Poles a second coach and QB, I won't get my pitchforks out. I don't care for a lot of his decisions but the dude did pull off one of the biggest trade heists in recent memory.

I'd rather clean out the whole thing tho

Aside from pining for Harbaugh, Greenburg’s article in The Athletic could have been written by Goony.

- sign Harrison, Jr/BPA DL in the first and don’t chase for a franchise QB.

WAIT A SECOND: do you mean to tell me that Irsay isn’t the best source of information on who the McCaskets should hire? Noooooo

This is what I don't understand. If you are a Billionaire, just pay someone 100K a year to be your driver anytime you are horsefeathers faced

Crazy thing is, he almost certainly has a full time security detail including a driver. He managed to overcome all of that to sneak off with the keys somehow

I remember when I used to be excited day of game for the Bears on MNF and I'd look forward to it all day.  Today its crossed my mind a couple of times, mostly thinking "Oh yeah there's a Bears game I have to watch tonight".  2 posts in the game thread today, neither about the game.  Good times!

I don't go into tonight where I care about winning at all, but it would be nice to see Fields put up his 4th strong performance in 5 games.

It's crazy to think that this team is two plays away from being 5-6 and being firmly in the playoff hunt and playing for a .500 record. The story around this team and the excitement levels around them are completely different if Fields doesn't fumble in the Denver game or Tyler Scott makes that catch last week.

(Of course they were 1 play away from losing that Panthers game, so there's that)

But of course thats football and there were tons of easily avoidable coaching mistakes that led us to where we are now. I'm not here to say they should be 5-6, just that they easily could have been. And feelings around Fields and the team would be very different.

For me it's like a dream where you're giving a speech naked. I hate when the entire country sees our team playing like dog horsefeathers.
