The issue is not their view on the sport. The issue is their ability to hire and retain the correct executives.

I feel like the McCaskeys are the near equivalent of what would happen if you were to let a bunch of Score callers take over Bears ownership.

No, THAT would look like Dan Snyder or Marc Davis.

McCaskeys are just.... I don't know, third generation heirs really just sums it up.

I'll give them some credit in their last process, they allowed others to be part of the hiring process. But somehow, some way, we are stuck in this cycle

great. why would that be an excuse for them? They could OWN Chicago.

Excuse for what?  They are like every owner. Not worth getting worked up about because they can't get fired.  The choice is stop following the team or shrug your shoulders and try and forget they exist.

I do worry that ownership favors executives who give them the right coach-speak about Tough, Bear Football.

I want to make clear that there aren't really any factual statements you can make where the owner is worth worrying over to me.

They're either bad enough I ignore the team or their mid enough I ignore the owner and focus my worries on the employees who actually have a chance of being replaced.

David Tepper is a much worse owner

I don't think I'd like it much if Jerry Jones was the owner. Too involved can't be a good thing, either.

My dislike of the Ricketts is so intense it borders on irrational, but they seem like the best team owners in Chicago history. Maybe Bill Veeck when he owned the White Sox was better.

How can you hate on the guy who basically gave the Cubs their wonderful moniker "lovable losers", Mr. Philip Wrigley?
