I absolutely adore Morel.

If he ever learns to stop putting himself constantly behind early he could be a special bat

To be fair to Smyly, he had like a 3.60 ERA through April and May, which was perfectly fine in the middle of the rotation.  But yeah he's been rough to watch the past couple months.

Fair. He started ok. I was just never comfortable going into the season counting on him as anything but a 6th starter/swing man.

This lineup just seems so much deeper with Candelario in there.  It probably helps when multiple people are on a heater but I'm just to being like 2-3 run producing spots in the order, and now when the Cubs get through Morel, then Bellinger, I braced for Mastrobuoni or Barnhart or someone like that but nope we still have Swanson.

Of course after him would have been the Happ, Gomes, Suzuki part of the order but still.

I don’t have marquee, are the cubs still shitting the bed offensively?

Reds are shitting the bed defensively

Are the Cubs good?

Yes.  They might have dug themselves too big of a hole due to sequencing early in the season, but they're a pretty good team.
