Not really a big deal but I wonder why they have Candelario at 3B tonight and Wisdom at 1B.  Wisdom's primary position is 3B and the Cubs are trying to make Candelario their semi-full time 1B, so wouldn't you swap them and let Wisdom play the position he's more comfortable at and give Candelario more time to feel more comfortable at 1B?  (I realize Candelario has played 1B in the past but not really all that much)

If I had to guess, Candy is better defensively than Wisdom at 3B.  First base is the least important defensive position on the field, so just throw Wisdom over there, instead of at 3B.  If they are both going to be in the lineup, I would suspect that this is going to be the norm.

What did Jed say to give you that idea. I didn’t hear an interview with Jed. I highly doubt they extend Bellinger. Maybe they go after him as a free agent, but I would be shocked if he signed before checking out the market. Maybe he does love it here and that will give them a slight advantage. But for the most part it will be about the money.

Winking frat boy with a smirk is exactly his MO

Nah.  He's looked like a defeated sad man every time I've seen him behind a mic for the past couple of years with few exceptions.  He was smiling through that whole thing.  Maybe he found some of Joe's wine under the table.

If you can't find it at Binny's, it's probably not worth drinking.

Regardless, Bellinger is not going to sign a. Extension. Maybe not zero chance, but definitely less that 1% chance.

Seriously, though, body language aside, his wording implied that there are negotiations to (not) comment on in-season, which is news in and of itself.

Gonna be interesting to see Candelario's debut tonight.

He played last night and went 4/5 with a double (at least two of those were BABIPy infield hits)

(Unless I'm missing some kind of inside game thread joke since I'm never in here)

They recorded last night's game on DVR and are planning on watching it during tonight's game.

LOL. I didn't see the game last night, so I thought today was his debut.

I saw the box score today. Absolute atomic bomb.

(Also, I mostly listen to the radio for games since I don't have Marquee)

For those that don’t follow the minors. Horton absolutely dominated in his first start in AA.  Basically breezed through four innings.

he may be in Wrigley next year this time.
