2 options that jump out at me here are Carr and... Minshew lol

Minshew is low-key.....not terrible. He completed over 66% of his passes this year. He played at a 4000 yard, 30 TD pace this year. And he quietly doesn't make many mistakes. His INT rate is only 1.4%, which is the same INT rate as the all-time leader in NFL history, Aaron Rodgers. Obviously, he's very young in his career, but he's probably not a guy that's going to all of a sudden be careless with the ball. Even if he never puts up those impressive numbers over a full 16-game season, he only has a 900K and then 1M cap hit over the next 2 years.

Not a guy that's going to save Pace and Nagy's jobs, so I don't think he's a realistic option, but if the Bears wanted a bridge QB, with at least some potential, he's one of the better options.

Has a bit of a fumbling problem though. 18 fumbles on 20 starts.

Yikes. Didn't look at that, just passing stats. Fumbles are a worse issue than INTs to me, simply because fumbles from QBs typically go backwards in field position.

Yep. His QBr is quite low for his passing stats and I presume this has a lot to do with it.

He fumbled 13 times in 14 games his rookie season.

He fumbled 5 times in 9 games this year, which is more of a middle of the pack rate.

A problem that was fixed? Too small a sample size to draw a conclusion?

Could it be Pace has learned something and knows its on the Eagles? That is, wait it out explore other options, just too fantastic to consider - the Bears being smart.

I said earlier in this thread, but for whatever bad moves Pace has made, many fans always acted like some huge draft haul was inevitable, when he hasn't really parted with tons of "high level" assets. And when he did it was for an indisputably awesome player, in Mack. Let's hope he can calibrate this market.

When you think about it waiting might be the best approach to lower the price tag for Wentz. The Eagles benched him, have let everyone know they're done with him and if not soon rid of his contract are on the hook for a chunk of change. In some aspects they're desperate, even more so if say, the Colts trade for Carr thereby eliminating another trade partner. Pace has nothing to lose by sitting tight.

Agreed. And the fear of loss shouldn't be there for Pace as there are other options that are not really worse than Wentz as they could go after Carr, technically go after Watson, move up in the draft etc. The fear for me was that Pace decided that he had to have Wentz and laser focused on doing anything to acquire him without any consideration of the rest of the QB market. Seems like that is not the case here, so hopefully we can extract a fair cost for one of the available QBs.

I feel like Pace isn't just going to easily cough up draft picks with whoever he goes after. I think he knows he needs a Tackle and it will take a first or second rounder to get one. He also knows he has to watch the cap space. Rumors are floating that ARob isn't going anywhere, so fitting ARob and a high priced QB will likely cause some other roster casualties besides Skrine, Graham and Massie.

I suppose he might cough up the draft picks for Watson, but the current asking price might be more than he's willing to go. Not to mention all of the doubt about whether he actually gets traded, and the ridiculous amount of teams that want in on any Watson trades, which severely reduces the chances of being the lucky team. Outside of Watson, I'm guessing Pace will be very protective of his draft picks.

I hope you're right. We've seen Pace zero in on players and overpay to get them (moving up for Trubisky & Floyd, Anthony Miller for future pick, Shaheen being a round or so early for how raw he was). I'm sure RT will be at the top of the list of draft needs as you said.

They will probably convert a bunch of base salary to bonus with Mack & Jackson, extend Fuller (and maybe Hicks). I just hope that they spread out the dead cap when they have to start cutting guys.

Jag : Just a guy?

yes

jag or not, he put up over 1k rushing and 1500 total yfs, and he's 23 meaning he likely should hover around those numbers for 5-6 more years barring injury. Sure, if you can draft a Cook you do so, but RB is far from a need right now
