After reading nearly 300,000 people stormed Wrigleyville for the NLCS game

The whole, "there were almost no arrests, so nothing really happened!" narrative is pretty hilarious; basically the cops just couldn't even get to most of the horsefeathers going down:

I can't even begin to imagine how boner inducing this world series would be if I were a pickpocket in Chicago.

Coming in from California. Is there any chance the pricing drops closer to game time. I know it will be very expensive, but was hoping 2k vs 4K per ticket.

Does anyone have recommendations for parking this weekend? I typically park in the Irving Park lot, but that almost certainly won't be available.

My current plan is just to park at the remote Rockwell lot early in the afternoon and Uber it to/from Wrigleyville instead of waiting for the shuttle buses. Is there a better/closer option that doesn't cost a fortune?

I'll be driving up on Saturday with my two best friends from college. Last time the three of us were together was at the Cubs Convention in January of 2015. Maddon was the new manager. Lester had been signed. We attended a panel discussion with the Cubs "Future Stars", which included Schwarber, Edwards, and Russell. In just 20 months, we'll be back celebrating our favorite team. It's going to be fun

i actually laughed out loud at this sequence of entries:

10:03PM — “I need every available officer and team to come up here. We need to gain control of Clark and Addison.”

10:03PM — “OK. Just so you know, we pretty much lost control of [sheffield and Waveland].”

10:05PM — “We lost Newport and Clark.”

10:07PM — It seems that the barricades have been compromised.

10:10PM — Dispatcher: "This says 'climbing the light poles and breaking the newsstands.' That’s all we got.”

i was down there and it didn't feel unsafe or out of control at all. the dummies were highly visible and easy to avoid

I have a buddy who's family owns a condo in the south loop/museum park area as a vacation/3rd home or whatever you want to call it. I have him checking in to see if anyone is using it this weekend, if nobody is I'll probably head down Saturday morning and maybe hangout around Wrigleyville until 4-5ish then head back to the condo to watch the game and then maybe head out after depending on the outcome because I don't feel like getting to a bar at 8am having to sit there for 15 hours

I'm still debating whether I'll be brave enough to head to Wrigleyville for any of the games. Realistically I doubt I'll end up wanting to go early enough to get into any of the bars.

Anyone going to be out around Ukrainian Village/Wicker Park or any neighborhoods in that area?

We are now trying to figure out our best option for Saturday night. Being by the stadium would be awesome, but all but guarantees that we won't see any of the game. Seeing the game together would also be cool, but then where do we do that?

I'm wondering this as well. Any suggestions from locals as to a good location? Is anyone planning on meeting anywhere? I'll be in town by around 1:00 or so Saturday and will be ready for whatever at that point.

If you are willing to go to Berwyn, Fitzgerald's is a great bar. I went there for Game 6 of the NLCS, and I had a lot of fun. They have a 14-foot outdoor HD projection screen, along with tables and bleachers! There is also a heated tent with a view of the screen. No cover charge, and there is reasonably priced food for purchase.

The bar is on Roosevelt & East Ave, and is a 4-block walk from the Oak Park CTA Blue Line.

Location: 6615 W Roosevelt Rd, Berwyn, IL

I'm stunned and jealous so many of you have tickets to the game. Even if I were to go by myself, my wife would laugh in my face if I wanted to spend in excess of $2K for a standing room ticket, let alone multiple tickets.

I have one legit connection to season tickets. My old boss has two bleacher seats. But he's selling them on Stubhub with a smile on his face.

Fighting the crowds in Wrigleyville just seems too much for me. The fear of not being able to find a place to semi-comfortably watch the game is real. Am I a complete monster for just wanting to watch the games with my dad in his living room?

Absolutely not. Home is the best place to watch a game focus and comfort-wise. A bar is probably the worst, though it is extremely fun to be around people when something legitimately awesome happens. Being actually at the game is great for the reactions and being a part of that scene, but unless you have headphones, you miss a lot on the broadcast or TV.

I've never understood the desire to listen to the broadcast of a game you are attending. I can do without all of that and if something historical happens be happy to download it later.

Bought 2 bleacher seats for game 5 Sunday. Wife was all aboard with the purchase. Hoping to hang out somewhere in Wrigleyville for part of Saturday night.

So can we expect that most restaurants and places of interest in the city during the day are going to be flooded as well? There are some restaurants I want to hit up for lunch but I'm wondering if it's gonna be a madhouse everywhere, all day, all weekend long?

Uh, it's a big city; pretty sure the whole place isn't going to be swamped because of this.
