For those not aware, the Wrigleyville bars that don't charge covers are going to be madhouses, and if you want to get in(not get a table, but get in), I'd suggest 2 PM Friday, and 10 AM Saturday. If you wanna go somewhere like Murphy's, and they don't charge cover(Unless you're looking to get on TV, don't reccommend), I legit wouldn't feel confident unless I was lined up by 8 AM.

Any realistic option for a dude willing to drink and pony up, but with a teenage son coming along who obviously doesn't drink? Would any of these places allow underage patrons? Otherwise, care to give me a good recommendation on a "family friendly" joint close by?

Landed here yesterday. The calm before the storm is eerie.

Most(All?) of the bars immediately around Wrigley are going to be 21+ only. I'd give D'Agostino's a call. Just a few blocks down from the stadium. Pizza place, but they're pretty Cub-centric. Should be a decent atmosphere.

For those of you off today and/or out and about in the city, a little birdie told me that the Goose Island Taproom on Wood has 2015 Bourbon County Stout on draft and BOTTLES of 2015 Bourbon County Rare for sale today.

Any word on supply and/or timeframe?

On saturday they had a giant TV set up in the outdoor patio area that you could easily watch from the sidewalk

For $100 one can go downtown to the Standard Club and watch the game with Fergie Jenkins and Leon Durham and another unannounced Cub. Cash bar but food with ticket :flythew:

I'm there if the other Cub is Neifi Perez.

Decided against going to Wrigley this weekend. Between the insane cover charges at the bar, the police perimeter that's getting set up and having to show up 10 hours early to even get near Wrigleyville, I'd rather just hit a nice bar and get horsefeathers there. For those who don't know, there is going to be a police perimeter that is basically going to stop allowing in and out foot traffic at a yet undesignated time around Wrigley. So if you're not there by then, good luck as you'll be watching and listening from 4 plus blocks away without a chance of getting closer. I hope I'm wrong but those of you showing up noon or after on either day are probably going to be severely disappointed with your options.

They had a police perimeter west of Wrigley late during Game 6 but UMFan and I managed to get through. Just had to go down some side streets.

Yeah I believe the blockades aren meant to prevent a large number of people from accessing the area. When we went down there there were a ton of people walking the other direction convinced that because they couldn't cross at Racine there was no way to access the park, but all you had to do was walk down to Waveland to get through.

Literally the alley directly north of Addison was open to get to the Stadium/surrounding bars.

No word on either. I'm assuming the draft will last longer than the bottles for sale.

The Cubs radio network is now 670 the Score.

And Pat and Len are on the same broadcast. Len takes over Coomer's usual 5th inning duties when not doing the game on TV.

No, he takes over for Pat, not Ron

Coomer does PBP in the 5th normally, though. That is what I meant.

Just got an email that I have a shot a tickets this morning. Crossing my fingers but there can't be many seats available at this point.

Good luck man!

Wow! After 40 minutes of hitting refresh, I was able to get 3 tickets! I can't believe it, I'm going to the World Series!!

From a few tweets I've seen Wrigleyville already looks like a zoo and bars are already packed. I've ran quite a few jags in my day but I can't imagine sitting in a bar for damn near 15+ hours.

Most bars here are charging stupid covers or table minimums. We got into Murphy's around 10:30am and it was already about half full. They took pretty much all the tables & chairs out. Huge line to get in now.

and they're obviously not gonna be pacing themselves. most of them are going to be blackout drunk by the time first pitch rolls round. that or they'll have passed out and woken up by then.

Anyone know of a legit website to buy World Series tickets without all of the buying fees you get at Stubhub, SeatGeek, etc.?

Finally parked near Randolph and Wabash, walked to the red line, got to Wrigley right as Schwarber came to the plate. It's pretty rough with the fox feed being on a delay. The crowd destroys any suspense. Watching Javys AB and the crowd starts filing out.....getting back on the L was fun. Think I might try to find a good spot elsewhere to watch.

I'll either watch the game at a bar in Berwyn or Oak Park tonight or just stay at home. I'm working until about 5:30 pm today.
