Wanted to take a quick poll. Upper deck box way in the corner (436) or upper deck reserved in the infield unobstructed. Contemplating tickets for the game.

I love 400s, but 500s IF is the better option. My sister had those for game 6, and her view was pretty great.

For those not aware, the Wrigleyville bars that don't charge covers are going to be madhouses, and if you want to get in(not get a table, but get in), I'd suggest 2 PM Friday, and 10 AM Saturday. If you wanna go somewhere like Murphy's, and they don't charge cover(Unless you're looking to get on TV, don't reccommend), I legit wouldn't feel confident unless I was lined up by 8 AM.

The whole, "there were almost no arrests, so nothing really happened!" narrative is pretty hilarious; basically the cops just couldn't even get to most of the horsefeathers going down:

http://www.cwbchicago.com/2016/10/cubs-win-hampered-by-crowd-cops-only.html

i actually laughed out loud at this sequence of entries:

10:03PM — “I need every available officer and team to come up here. We need to gain control of Clark and Addison.”

10:03PM — “OK. Just so you know, we pretty much lost control of [sheffield and Waveland].”

10:05PM — “We lost Newport and Clark.”

10:07PM — It seems that the barricades have been compromised.

10:10PM — Dispatcher: "This says 'climbing the light poles and breaking the newsstands.' That’s all we got.”

i was down there and it didn't feel unsafe or out of control at all. the dummies were highly visible and easy to avoid

Did you wind up making it to a bar for the game?

my buddy and I ducked in to wrigleyville north on the corner of sheridan and sheffield, no cover. hoofed it over to the madness after the double play

I'm gonna be driving in tomorrow and will be around Wrigleyville all weekend. I may end up waiting in a line. No matter how lame the bars are it's the WS and I don't have a ticket. I can't just sit and celebrate alone in front of my t.v.

Those of us that are going should use this thread to communicate and meet up if possible. It's going to be utter chaos.

Weird as it may seem, I'm leaving Chicago this weekend. I'm heading back up to Wisconsin to watch the games with my dad.

Decided against going to Wrigley this weekend. Between the insane cover charges at the bar, the police perimeter that's getting set up and having to show up 10 hours early to even get near Wrigleyville, I'd rather just hit a nice bar and get shitty there. For those who don't know, there is going to be a police perimeter that is basically going to stop allowing in and out foot traffic at a yet undesignated time around Wrigley. So if you're not there by then, good luck as you'll be watching and listening from 4 plus blocks away without a chance of getting closer. I hope I'm wrong but those of you showing up noon or after on either day are probably going to be severely disappointed with your options.

Any realistic option for a dude willing to drink and pony up, but with a teenage son coming along who obviously doesn't drink? Would any of these places allow underage patrons? Otherwise, care to give me a good recommendation on a "family friendly" joint close by?

Landed here yesterday. The calm before the storm is eerie.

My friend and I are driving up today and wont get in until about an hour after the game starts. What radio stations will the game be on? Like the actual numbers to the stations? I assume WGN Radio but I don't know the station number.

Also I hear both Pat and Len on some replays? Are they on the same station? Where can I listen to Len?

If anyone was on the fence about paying the Stubhub prices, right now is a good chance to buy. The minimum still hasn't changed much (about 2k with fees for SRO), but the other tickets are coming down. Just bought 3 in section 140 for $2300 each with fees. These were over $3600 last night. Dropped about $400 every half hour until I just couldn't pass any longer.

Just got an email that I have a shot a tickets this morning. Crossing my fingers but there can't be many seats available at this point.

Good luck man!

We are reconsidering our plans right now. For one, the game 1 loss means that there's no chance of a clinch on Saturday (the only day we'll be there), so there's no NEED to join the mob in Wrigleyville. Now with restaurants all over jacking up prices, we're wondering if its worth it at all. Plans pending....

being around tens of thousands of people without a guarantee of actually seeing anything sounds like my personal nightmare.

This, plus I have the feeling that the people who will be there are going to be the worst

in 2003 i was going to be in wrigleyville for the world series, and i was pumped up for it. but 13 years later it sounds awful, and watching at home with my wife sounds ideal.

The Cubs radio network is now 670 the Score.

They had a police perimeter west of Wrigley late during Game 6 but UMFan and I managed to get through. Just had to go down some side streets.

For those of you off today and/or out and about in the city, a little birdie told me that the Goose Island Taproom on Wood has 2015 Bourbon County Stout on draft and BOTTLES of 2015 Bourbon County Rare for sale today.

And Pat and Len are on the same broadcast. Len takes over Coomer's usual 5th inning duties when not doing the game on TV.

Yeah I believe the blockades aren meant to prevent a large number of people from accessing the area. When we went down there there were a ton of people walking the other direction convinced that because they couldn't cross at Racine there was no way to access the park, but all you had to do was walk down to Waveland to get through.

No, he takes over for Pat, not Ron
