Man, Kyle is a stud. He just pitched one of the better games you'll see in one of the franchise's biggest games in history, going against one of the best pitchers ever. And he was stoic the whole time. I couldn't love him any more.

Sorry for not "getting" this earlier - I take it winning Cub pitcher w/green polo posing in front of the W is a thing?

I think SchwarBombs is coming to the WS! Epstein just on mlbnetwork was his usual articulate self saying its day to day evaluating Schwarber but added his swing looks great, he ripped a good pitcher in BP yesterday & added if anyone can do it.. Kyle can..

I've got another two bottles of wine to go

Tonight will be fun

Drink plenty of water before bedtime - or you pass out, whichever comes first.

I'm already sick of the "oh, I guess this means Trump is going to be president, dur-hur-hur"-type of jokes. How about the first woman president of the US if we're talking about unprecedented, kick ass things happening? Don't taint this with Trump nonsense (and that includes you, Joe Ricketts. horsefeathers you and your horsefeathers ass Benghazi commercials during the game).

Did you mean to post this in the Politics thread? Relax, enjoy, be happy.

No, I meant to post it here, and I am happy as horsefeathers, so kiss my taint.

That photo is a real photo and is freaking amazing, all the other ones are photoshops because of how amazing this real photo is.

Posted this is earlier in another thread but gonna add it here too:

When the Cubs win this series I will gladly pay someone to get me a copy of the next days newspapers. I will be in Chicago the week before Thanksgiving and can certainly meet to pick it up, or if you prefer you can ship it to me at my expense.

I got you buddy, just sent you a PM. (well I think I did, I don't see it in my outbox... either way I got you covered.)

Thank you! Don't see a PM, but I appreciate it!

I like our chances if the Dodgers only send up the minimum number of batters tonight.

I'm going through the thread right now and I'm sure I'm not the first person to congratulate you on this.

I must have clicked away before it sent, but yeah just remind me closer to it happening and I'll pick them up.

Thank you Cubs. Thank you. I don't know what I expected it to be like but it was really, really special and awesome and whatever other words I can think of.

At this point, it doesn't really matter, because we're in the World Series, and who gives a horsefeathers? But how nuts is it that we are doing this with a bunch of 22- and 23-year-old kids? Not to get into a whole narrative about Lovable Losers and such, because that's all over now. But we waited 108 years and it's going to be a bunch of kids that finally do it.

I know, I keep thinking, "So in the end all it took to get over the hump was overwhelming young talent: great SP, good bullpen, solid defense at every position, and a balanced offense that put pressure on opponents essentially 1-8, and often 1-9 (and well suited for AL parks). Easy, right?"

I love y'all. Spent the night at the Cubs bar here in Austin. I'm soaked in beer. I cried like a child. I called all of my friends and family. I'll see all you [expletive] at the game three meet up.

I doubt anybody minds, but I'm about to spam the thread with photos from the Chicago Tribune, I'm going to do one picture per post because I think that will be easiest.

There was a lot of satisfaction in seeing the tiniest bit of trouble start to flair up with five outs to go and going straight to the overkill of 103 mph protecting a five run lead.

Please note my post from eariler re: Joe vs Dusty

I still can't fully process this. I'm exhausted, and all I did was watch a baseball game completely sober.

And you're still awake!

I cant believe that not only did the Cubs win the WS clinching game by dominating the best pitcher of the generation, but they faced only the minimum in 9 innings

Pure domination

I bet Tim McCarver and Joe Buck were SOOO disappointed!
