Would Jon Lester even know how to use an iPad? I know he tweets, but I just have always figured his wife does it for him. I picture him with a flip phone or something. If it was Jon, I am not sure it was him [expletive] on his teammates. If anything, I think he is really pissed from a competitive standpoint of not staying in the game. Yeah, I have a hard time picturing him crack his knuckles and say, "now it's time for daddy to parlay those 6 strong innings into a high score on Candy Crush."

The quality of at bats seemed to deteriorate by the week over the second half. It really was amazing. Fingers crossed for some good luck come hot stove season.

1) Rizzo bunt single against a shift ignites a rally second time through the order 2) Maddon switches a reliever into LF for 1 AB late... who horribly misplays a ball, giving up the tying/go-ahead run (I'd say say Hamels goes at least 1 IP, but I think that's a near gimme and thus doesn't qualify)

Not predicting this -- and at this moment it's pretty hard to conceive what would have to happen to get there -- but would be mighty, mighty satisfying to watch the Cubs celebrating a fourth straight LCS berth up in Miller Park next Wednesday. These are the days that put the "die" in diehard. Try it again tomorrow and see what happens. Go Cubs!

Yeah, if they win 95 games and it just so happens that the only other team in the NL to win 95 is also in their division, there's not much you can do... ... except those two horsefeathering series. Just win one more of those games and this thing is already over. That's going to stick with me. Labor Day is the one that really got away
