I was definitely more nervous about the DS. Part of it of course due to 7 games vs 5, but I was also pretty terrified of Cueto and Madbum. For this series, I just don't think we'll see a super dominant Kershaw given how much he's been used lately.

I think Giants made me more nervous because their lineup wasn't as good. If the Dodgers club a bunch of extra base hits and win the series, welp they were a good team. I can handle that a lot better than even year magic and Joe Panik BABIPing his way to NLDS MVP.

 

I'm also a little bit more confident that playing a team that strikes out a normal amount will reduce the likelihood of silly nonsense(like Panik and Gillaspie) happening, even if only slightly.

Not to mention losing in the DS would've bothered me much more in and of itself. At least we've locked in at least 4 more playoff games now.

They expect Jansen to be available, but for one inning only.

 

Yeesh. Jansen is a free agent, so screw him I guess. He's thrown 3 of 5 days for a combined 80 pitches, the closest he came to that this year was throwing 3 of 6 days for 59 pitches, and when he pitched the next day he blew a 1 run save.

 

Its definitely something to tuck away. I was really wanting him to be a Cub next year. But they're riding the hell out of him obviously. At any rate, he's not full strength tonight, which helps.

I wish I were stronger than this, but I'm in exactly the same boat. If we don't treat the Dodgers this series the way the Mets treated us last year, I'll age 6 years this week.
