I'm terrified, but not even really terrified that they'll lose. Just kind of a general terror that comes with not being a real man.

Headed to my first ever playoff game shortly. Section 213, possibly obstructed view :( . Hope it's an exciting game, but I'll take a dull-ass, boring win over excitement.

Hope to be waving the "W" tonight!!

there's nothing dull or boring about an easy win.

probably posted somewhere but 538 has us at 68% to win tonight

After seeing some of the losses that didn't correlate with their percentages, I've grown to put little faith in their percentages. I believe the Nats were 60/30 favorites too for game 5.

At the end of the day, it's baseball. You can put statistics behind it, but the randomness (especially in October) can take over at any moment with one or two out of the norm plays.

i mean, 30% is still a very possible outcome. i'd still rather be the 70% team though.

70% doesn't mean 100% tho.

I was feeling pretty good about facing the Dodgers--thinking that if we can reasonably expect a big advantage in both of Lester's starts (nothing guaranteed in any single game obviously), that we would only need 2 out of the other 5 games of the series.

However, the wind now has me a little nervous. I don't like weather that can make crazy things happen in a game where we had such an advantage going in. I can already see Adrian Gonzalez going opposite field for a home run on what should be a lazy fly ball right now. I do think Lester has a better GB/FB ratio than Maeda, however. Gametime needs to come quickly.

Trust in Lester and his ability to induce weak contact

My prediction: First 20 run game of the year. Cubs roll 20-2 and set the tone for how the series is going to be. Rizzo with two dongs and 7 rbi's. Fowler, Russell and Baez all hit dongs as well. Lester with 7 innings and 1 ER. Z-alphabet gives up a run in mop up duty.

Also, it's WAY too early for any negative talk. A seven game series is a long series and anything can happen... although they only thing that's gonna happen is a 4 game cub sweep.

GO CUBS!!!

On the flipside we could hit 7 dongs off the scoreboard

horsefeathers I'm legitimately terrified. I would make an awful athlete

I'm wayyyyy calmer today than I was for any of the NLDS. Mainly because Maeda is nowhere near as scary as Cueto.

Was hoping that watching a little hockey before the game would make the time go by quickly but the hockey is really really bad so...

Did ARod just say that the feeling around the city feels a little like "Notre Dame-USC"? What a random reference

I think he's just saying it feels like college football...but yeah, odd.

Historic Midwest team vs historic LA team?

If anyone is worried about the wind blowing out hard, IIRC the wind was also blowing heavily out during Lester's start against the Dodgers this year (9IP 1 ER)
