OH GREAT ANOTHER STELLAR FS1 BROADCAST

Well the Cubs are up 2-0. This feels very familiar. I have to admit going into yesterday's game, with a tough matchup against Cueto, I was a bit nervous. Confident, but nervous. there's something about going into the playoffs with a target on your back that amps up the nerves. This is why Joe is here to guide us and teach us to embrace the target. Game 1 win = soothed nerves. Game 2 matchup against Samardzija = 100% cocky confidence.

That confidence was rewarded with another victory over the even year Giants. Hendricks was good, had a scare, but came out okay. Meanwhile Travis Wood helped dong us into another victory becoming only the 2nd relief pitcher in major league history to hit a home run in the postseason. Neat!

Game 3 brings perhaps the toughest matchup yet. We'll have Jake Arrieta going for us. He's a Cy Young winner. He has been, by and large, an excellent pitcher this year, but not Cy Young caliber. He appeared to have many struggles with his command, but then he majestically returned to God mode Jake for a start and showcased what appeared to be the slider movement and command we've been missing all year.

WAS IT A PLOY TO SAVE HIS ARM FOR THE PLAYOFFS?!?!? LETS FIND OUT

Here's a picture of Jake:

http://i.imgur.com/mM2ybfQ.jpg?1

Only intense pictures of our Cubs for the playoffs. Here's Jake's 2016 regular season numbers:

W L ERA G GS CG SHO IP BB SO ERA+ FIP WHIP H9 HR9 BB9 SO9 SO/W
18 8 3.10 31 31 1 1 197.1 76 190 129 3.52 1.084 6.3 0.7 3.5 8.7 2.50

Jake walked a lot of guys this year. In fact that mysterious start where he was God mode Jake disappeared in his next and last start of the season. NOT COOL, JAKE. But the evidence is there that he has the ability to dial it up when he needs to. Maybe that was a tune up, to make sure he still had it, and then his last start he was going at 50%!?!?! I JUST WANT TO BELIEVE IN GOD MODE JAKE.

The Cubs will be facing this pile of hillbilly horsefeathers:

http://larrybrownsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/madison-bumgarner.jpg

"I've made a huge mistake"

Look at him, realizing he's down two games to none against the best offense in baseball.

"But Logan, Madison Bumgarner is the best playoffs pitcher in basebaaaallll!"

Shut the horsefeathers up. 2012 he was amazing, yes. This is true. And he's been a tremendous World Series pitcher. This isn't the World Series. This is the NLDS. Career NLDS numbers for Bumgarner:

Year W L ERA G GS IP BB SO WHIP H9 HR9 BB9 SO9 SO/W
3 NLDS 1 2 4.15 3 3 17.1 3 15 1.269 9.9 1.0 1.6 7.8 5.00

So if you wanna walk in here and start swinging your worried dick around acting like Bumgarner is this insurmountable goliath of the postseason you're wrong. Bumgarner can be beat. He's not going to be easy, but he's not going to be impossible. So if you wanna get all worried about having to face Bumgarner with all that loser talk...

One more to go.

Keep winning, Cubs.

Go CUBS !!

Yep, this racist horsefeathers needs knocked down a peg or two. The Logan is the one to do it, too. God-mode Jake returns. 8IP 2H 0R 1BB 13K

The Cubs take Bumgarner for six runs and cruise to the sweep.

It wont be enough for me if the Cubs win 3-1, they need to bury Bumgarner on Monday. If there was ever a time to make a statement in a game, Monday is it.

Did they ever actually officially announce Bumgarner for game 4? I know everybody is expecting it, but at one point they were talking about letting Moore have game 3 and MadBum game 4.

Wait, game 4? What?

I never heard anything like that, but if they didn't start Bumgarner and they lost an elimination game, there would be riots in SF.

I assume he meant game 3. But yeah, I don't get the point of starting Bum on short rest when they need to win three straight anyhow.

But he's not on short rest. He's on normal 4 days rest tomorrow.

Great, now I'm expecting a 13K 1-hitter, because he did that 1 time.

Yeah, the Giants' beat writer for their official website wrote before the series that Bochy might start Moore in game 3. Safe to say he's no longer considering that given their current predicament.
