This is an incredibly weird post.

well he's an incredibly weird person

Since Tim isn't going to give us the downvote feature everyone wants, I think in the offseason we should have a contest for worst post of the year/all-time.

I don't get it. Are we assuming the comment isn't tongue-in-cheek?

I can't tell if you guys thought I was being serious, or if you knew I was kidding and still thought it was crazy and weird.

Maybe a little of both?

There's literally no scenario where that post wasn't idiotic.

Note for future reference. You make enough weird posts that you should never, ever use sarcasm. Just don't.

chapman choked his girlfriend. so even assuming the joke is that shooting a gun a bunch of times doesn't constitute violence, wtf was his post trying to convey?

I just threw up.

which of cease's 45 innings have been your fav so far

Yeah, I'd probably like that fictional trade more than the actual one.

I can't say that I would rather have McKinney than Cease. Sure McKinney will be higher on the prospect lists and Cease is a complete wild card, but he is also a rarity in the Cubs system.

Szymborski's ridiculous projections on him going into the year that had be irrationally excited

I really thought we won that trade. maybe we did, I don't know, but I was expecting him to not suck giant gaping assholes

Makes sense being a Boras client and all. Still not a huge fan of making this deal w/o one

mckinney is literal garbage so of course id rather have cease than him but jesus christ the wailing and gnashing of teeth over these children in LOW A BALL is really amazing.

yeah, but the fact that we expected warren to be pretty good was gravy. getting rid of the contract on a terrible player and being able to sign zobrist as a result was the win.

By shedding Castro's contract, we won the deal, but yes, he was supposed to be much better than he was.

I thought he was trying to subtly say that Chapman is a piece of horsefeathers by going along with Chapman's hard-to-believe version of the events...

I'm still just having a hard time with this one, between the haul for Chapman, the fact that no extension is in place and the fact that he's a POS. I'm really interested in this press conference/statements from the front office.

Yeah. With like a billion dollars coming off the books if he was going to sign for 4/60 he'd be a Yankee. He probably still will be but just for more years and perhaps AAV.

the real kick in the shins will be next year when Chapman resigns with the Yankees AND they make off with Torres

It's a bit of a haul, but it seems like Torres is really the only one with any kind of chance to be a difference-maker at this point, and even that is far from a definite. It's an overpay, but I think an acceptable one. (Keeping in mind that I'm not a student of the prospects we have like most of this board is.)

You said this last night too...wondering why you're so sure he'd rather be a Yankee than a Cub at equal salaries.
