I like that the Cubs basically took a big [expletive] on both New York teams today.

Yankees forum: http://www.nyyfansforum.com/showthread.php/135684-2016-Trade-Deadline-Thread/page101

Many of them are still semi-convinced that the Cubs may trade Scwharber or Baez.

Most, however, seem resigned to the [expletive] of their FO/organization. Good for them.

Yeah, it seems to me that Yankees fans are a much more rational sort than Mets fans, who I'm pretty sure are all insane. But that's a very subjective opinion.

Well, he was getting told that he gets to leave Iowa to go play in the major leagues, so I'm sure he wasn't too upset.

or tacoma, either way is a win

You've never been to Tacoma have you .....

Man, Seattle is humid as [expletive]; humidity is NOT a fat man's friend.

um have you ever been here?

Spend 5 minutes in Des Moines in July and then run a marathon in Seattle today and compare the sweat stains after each.

Seattle is humid in the winter. It's dry in the summer.

It is HELL in the winter. 9 mns out of the year you want to kill yourself. Just stay where you are people. Save yourself

Summers in Seattle are the greatest stretch of weather anywhere on the planet.

And we never owned an air conditioner in Seattle, nor did anyone we knew.

Hope Vogelbach gets to start soon.

He's gonna be a very solid mlb hitter for years to come.

Comparing Schwarbs and Vogelbach...

Both players are left-handed baseball destruction machines, and both are built like fire hydrants. But Vogelbach is more like an inflatable fire hydrant in Disney's ToonTown: He's oversized, soft and puffy. He moves on a baseball field like someone rubber banded Popsicle sticks to an empty can of beans, and, oh, what else? Oh, right, he hit three balls that would be home runs in almost every major league ballpark; two to Cheney's comically large centerfield, and one high up on the hill in right field. He can mash.

And by that I mean, the northwest is terrible and inhospitable, no one should ever move here

I concur. STAY AWAY FOR YOUR OWN SANITY

THE GREY. OMG OMG THE GREY

That turned south pretty quickly

Theo definitely makes it sound like we'll give Montgomery a shot at starting in the future. I'm more curious as to his current role though. Just a Richard replacement? Or do we use him in some high leverage spots early on to see if he can handle it? I can see either, I guess. I'm HOPING we give him a few chances prior to the deadline and it gives us more leverage than we've already got.

We didn't get this guy to pitch him in a mop-up role. I'm guessing he will slot around where Edwards currently is but behind Strop and Rondon in the pecking order for the time being.

In terms of straight roster moves, yes, I'm guessing he will replace Richard.

Not sure where he'll fit in Seattle, at least for now. He won't be unseating Cruz as DH, and Seattle has something of a 1B platoon on Dae-Ho Lee and Adam Lind, which has been good for 26 dongs.

If Seattle falls any further out of the wild card race in the next week, several of the players you mentioned could end up on other teams, which opens the door for Vogelbach. With yesterday's trade, Seattle may already be preparing to miss the playoffs.

Around this time last year I saw a Mariners vs Pads game at Petco and watched Mike Montgomery throw a 1 hitter, took a no hitter deep into the game too if I remember right..

I spent summer in San Diego two years ago and they had a heat wave and everything caught fire. Seattle 1, San Diego 0.
