No they can't. They haven't been very good behind and late.

if it's any consolation, I read recently that the great Detroit Tigers of 1984, that started off 35-5, were actually only 4.5 games up at one point after that crazy start. Then they recollected themselves and kicked it in again.

Gotta love coming home from work, finding out that the game is NOT on TV, but is STILL blacked out because...it's on TV?

This. I work from home and was hoping to put the game on in the background. Screw MLB TV and screw this game.

The Travis Wood game in Milwaukee was the last time we won a game after trailing at the end of the 6th, I believe.

Time to add my very thought out analysis to this game thread.

Man, the Cubs haven't scored off the Reds bullpen in the last 8 innings. Wow.

bugs me that people think this pen resembles the Spring atrocity in any way

gone are Hoover, Catham; Diaz is buried and the guys we've seen this series are all fairly good

i wish this wasn't happening

It's tough. You get used to the nice pick me up from a Cubs win on more days than not, and then all the sudden for almost 3 weeks you've only gotten that bump a couple of times.

If we can't beat the 3rd worst team in baseball, hopefully we can beat the worst tomorrow.

Yeah, the catching prospect coming up and looking amazing happens all the damn time.

- Russell getting fixed

- Bryzzo going on monster tears

- Carl's Jr coming up and suddenly not walking guys

- Warren coming up and giving five solid

- etc.

It's actually pretty interesting how a whole lot is going great for this team: all of those things plus Addisson being a monster at the plate, Zobrist showing power again, and yet in the last two weeks they've lost a whole bunch of games because everyone in the starting rotation except Hendricks has had bad starts and the bullpen has been a revolving door of blown saves

I enjoyed it when it seemed like a lot was going wrong but we were winning, like last year when we scored like 4 runs in sweeping the mets.
