It's not completely irrelevant at all. Jake wasn't helping Montero last night specifically, but Montero spoke as if there was some completely incorrect narrative that he can't throw anyone out. He can't throw anyone out. He literally hasn't.

You could argue that Cleveland's 7th run doesn't score if Montero doesn't drive that run home since the run scored via a walk, taking second due to catcher's interference and single to CF. If it's 7-6, its possible that Guyer, who was 3 for 5 in SB attempts that season, doesn't try to take 2nd.

 

On the other hand, with 2 outs and Montero behind the plate, they may have attempted to steal the base anyways.
