Any reason we shouldn't be in on Blake Swihart after the Red Sox surprisingly DFA'd him? He has to be better than Taylor Davis at least, and we can't necessarily count on Caratini being as good as he was pre-wrist injury.

Oh weird. I was mad at myself for not picking him up in a deep fantasy league I'm in when someone else snaked him. Why the DFA? Yes, we should grab him.

We absolutely should get him

We probably can't afford him, but in the hypothetical world where we could, how does it work this early in the season? I keep thinking back to August/September waivers, where it's based on your record...does that apply this early on? Or is this a different situation entirely?

I think for a while it goes by last season's record

Q’s change up usage is now at its highest rate (9.5%) since 2015 (10%). He was under 7% last year, just over 9% in 2017 and under 9% in 2016.

The Orioles will have the first chance to claim him I believe (and they're run by smart people now).

Horrific 2017-2018 offseason continues

There is really no excuse for this one. Chatwood was a calculated risk that didn't work out and Darvish has been an unexpected disappointment, but Morrow was a giant injury red flag from the beginning. Him being significantly injured surprises noone.

We have the 2nd best run differential in MLB (best in the NL). We might be good.

best if you consider games played
