Never eaten at Sheetz, but Wawa has some damn good sammiches.

My classmates at the school and I just took a trip to one of our classmates' parents house in NC and on the way back to the Norfolk airport we had to make a detour to go to a Wawa that our east coast folks raved about. I have to admit, it was pretty damn good.

i'm assuming they have a beach house at the outer banks?

one of my ex's stepdad was loaded and had several huge beach houses at the OBX. i miss that dearly. if you have the chance and if you enjoy tranquility you should try and visit for a weekend in the winter. there's like nothing open but a grocery store and occasional bar but the beach is just as beautiful and you feel like you are at a private island.

horsefeathers, I've been getting a house with friends or family for years in the first half of September. The place is already a ghost town, still plenty of summer weather and the rates are WAY down because it's technically hurricane season (kinda glad we weren't able to make it this year).

am i crazy or didn't we hear recently that rizzo or someone has a streak something like this

i think stanton too

Stanton's birthday is in November, and Rizzo has never homered on his birthday.

The one streak in that vein that jumps to mind is Harper homering on Opening Day 3 straight years.

EDIT: Trout has homered on his birthday in 4 of his 6 full years but never more than 2 consecutive.

you may be thinking of noah syndergaard, whose birthday is August 29th, the same date of his last 4 surgeries.

Speaking of the Mets, how are their fans feeling these days?

The horsefeathering Cubs, the losers of all losers, the best joke in all of horsefeathering sports, are world champions, and heading to the post season for the third consecutive year, something our miserable franchise has never, ever accomplished. Yes, things are pretty horsefeathering miserable. When you can't even look down on the Cubs ......... Yes, horsefeathers baseball.

Oh ok then, carry on.

(sorry everytime the Mets are brought up I have an urge to see how Mets Refugees is doing for shits and giggles)

it's been kind of an afterthought but the cubs have never been to the playoffs 3 straight seasons (unless you count when it was just the world series to be "playoffs," in which case, i think you go back to those mid aughts teams)

Before last season, anytime I wanted to feel pity about the Cubs history, I remembered that its still better than the White Sox, who have never in their history made the playoffs in consecutive years and only 9 times total in 116 seasons. This might/will be 19 for the Cubs since 1901

yes i agree it is unjust that the mets, a historically poorly run and mediocre franchise, continue to be poorly run and mediocre.

Stanton's hit one on the birthday of every one of Addison Russell's children this year.

Doesnt he only have 53 bombs though?

Some of his offspring share birthdates, obviously.

perhaps for every time addison russell uses a condom, he matches with a "i can't believe he did that" twin-killing

Assuming they get in this year, this will be the Cubs 9th playoff appearance in my lifetime and I actually remember all of them.

8 playoff appearances in 20 years would be 7th most in MLB during that time. Angels could tie the cubs for 7th if they win the wild card.

when we get in this year, theo will be at 3 playoff years and 3 non playoff years.

but, but, but those 3 non playoff years were really bad!!

This would only be 7 in the last 20 years. 84, 89, 98, 03, 07, 08, 15, 16, 17.
