David how the heck are you able to celebrate around wrigleyville, post here and surf gatewayredbirds for comments among other things. You sir are a world class multi-tasker

i went out for the last inning..then realized i forgot to record postgame, so i ran (literally) home so i could set the DVR.

then i hung out on my computer for like 2 hrs, realized i was v hungry, and took the long way to azteca de oro, and saw the commotion around the players lot...so i hung out around there for maybe 10 minutes before i got my burrito.

that's basically been my evening.

Finally going through GRB. One gem:

I've already tried to tell you that Baez is garbage, today notwithstanding. Dude is a strikeout machine who has a terrible swing and bad plate discipline. Soler has shown flashes but also struggles with plate discipline. I love Russell - Schwarber has prodigious power, but his avg. in Aug/September was hideous (and that was not facing any lefty pitchers to speak of).

Also - whose pitching for the Cubs? Lester contract will be terrible 2 years from now - Arrieta will not be this historically good again - and the other 3 guys in their rotation are hot garbage. Maybe they sign David Price and I change my tune - I'm not remotely afraid of the Cubs provided we stay healthy.

i like 33anda3rd a lot

Yeah, he's a good one. My least favorite is probably Cronos, because he puts on airs, but is just a jackass.

But compared to boards like Cards Talk, GRB is a pretty civilized place.

i liked where the one guy listed all the elite players the cardinals had and then he basically told him none of them would start on the cubs. that guy did not like that.

edit - here we go

Grichuck over Fowler? I'd rather have Fowler.

That being said I think this is a huge offseason for the cardinals. They have some good young talent but need to keep heyward and add a good bat. Will they spend the cash?

They've gotta be going to Stanley's tonight right? Because I'm going to stay there like a pathetic fanboy.

Also official ruling is I'm going to let this dongebration fester into the night then when our collective dongover subsides I will start an NLCS thread to discuss frivolities like future opponents if they ever decide to start finishing serieses

THAT'S the place i was thinking about

god now i have to go

My buddy that I watched the game with today wound up at Stanley's and ran into McLeod there. Sent me a pic a little bit ago. So I'm guessing there's others there.

Been a very long time since I've gotten this excited for the Cubs, and been a while since I checked this site.

Beating the Cardinals in the postseason felt cathartic, but there's still more yet to do!

The scars of October 2003 have not been kind to me and I'm hoping this Cubbie team does well to heal them. I'm looking forward to the games!

I forgot Fernando shot an arrow. I was yelling, "Shoot an arrow! Shoot an arrow!" And then the camera panned to him at the perfect moment, right before he did. I was so happy. It was literally the first time all series that TBS was able to catch something cool, because their camera work was so horrible, much like the rest of their work.
