2 months of awful for a 21 year old rookie with a great minor league track record is a lot different from sucking donkey nuts for the better part of 3 years for an experienced major leaguer.

 

(and, to steal a kyle-ism, this is not me spiking the football on baez in any way whatsoever)

Old poster checking in here - thank you for keeping the party rolling for 15 years Tim.

Well I think a lot of the old posters left. People here became [expletive] and some of the best guys left. There are still some good folks here but frankly I rarely ever post anything here anymore because of the way things have gone here. It's sad I used to love these boards.

Well I think a lot of the old posters left. People here became [expletive] and some of the best guys left. There are still some good folks here but frankly I rarely ever post anything here anymore because of the way things have gone here. It's sad I used to love these boards. Mostly I come here for Ct, Tiger and Raisin and how great the minor league forums are/have been. Outside of that I mainly just lurk these days and I've been around since the beginning. This series was incredible and one I'll never forget. I think we are going to get much deeper before it's over and maybe we win it all.

 

I'm the same way. I lurked here for a while before I even registered my username, but then got frustrated with the negativity (which I've since learned is NOT even close to being exclusive here). Been around several other boards and really loved the discussion on /r/ChiCubs, but really missed it here. Came back here at various points over the summer to lurk and am loving the discussion and banter so far during the playoffs.

 

Huge kudos to Tim for keeping this place going through some really dark times for Cubs fans.

Its going to stay on that board until the wind blows it off. I dont see any obstruction towards the sides or the edge...

 

and then right after typing that I read this part of the article:

 

The Cubs will put a plexiglass case around it for now to preserve it from the elements.

I called my dad last night because he's back at our place in Chicago to go to both of the home games and the apartment is, like, 3 blocks from Stanley's. Told him to head over but he opted for drunken sleep like an old man. When I'm back there in the next couple of weeks I'm gonna be staking that place out.

Told him to head over but he opted for drunken sleep like an old man. When I'm back there in the next couple of weeks I'm gonna be staking that place out.

 

dunno if you saw my other post. i was actually on my way somewhere else despite being absolutely exhausted. saw the posts that they might be there and said [expletive] it and headed over. was very cool to see everyone and met SSR too. shook mcleod's hand and he was like "it's [expletive] awesome, right?!"

So let me get this straight... Even though the Cubs have a better record than the Mets and Dodgers, they still wont get HFA in the NLCS?

Mlb network was way better last night with Dan pleasac and the go cubs go song during many parts of the broadcast. Espn has been dead to me since the bears were good because you know to them defense is boring

We have to have the late game Saturday and then the 2 weekday days there's ALCS NLCS overlap, right? Best tv ratings potential

 

I'd bet we have the night game each time they overlap. No way they're choosing Toronto/Houston/Texas/KC over Chicago and either NY or LA for prime time.
