I'm going to attempt to tune out all the national media coverage because there will be nothing of worth being added by them. They are just going to trot out the same narratives because they are lazy and it allows them to go back to pushing the NFL and Daily Sports Fantasy sites.

Yeah, it's just a fun way to highlight something awesome that happened. Who cares otherwise?

idiots pushing a bunch of curse/superstition related narratives. it annoys the [expletive] out of me to an irrational extent.

I could see some dip [expletive] meatball Cubs fans pointing to it as something negative in the odd chance the Cubs don't win it.

It's the thing that people who don't know about sports know about the Cubs, and everything is a race to see who can get the most stupid people to watch/click.

All of us caught that home run ball. That ball sitting on the scoreboard is a monument to the defeat of the despised Cardinals in a playoff series. Schwarber's dong is now enshrined as a warning for opponents, for the confines are no longer friendly.

That ball signifies the end of Cardinals tyranny. It's for our grandmothers and grandfathers who never saw a playoff series win at Wrigley field. It is for all of us who suffered through the Tribune regime, suffered with Alex Gonzalez's booted double-play ball, Victor Diaz, black cats, goats, even the recent tanking. That ball is for all Cubs fans, showing us that things have changed forever.

Pretty sure this was already posted somewhere, but I wanted to say again how gratifying it is that we were able to destroy this pecker head on our road to glory. What a No Dong Johnson. Edited by ScrubMD

I imagine he's just being extra bitter about Baez, right? That pitch wasn't over the plate at all.

EDIT: Confirmed that it's the Baez pitch. What delicious tears those are.

"Ran into one"?

Christ, even when they're not drunk driving they're thinking about drunk driving.

Haha what a tool.

I almost felt a bit sorry for that tool during that sequence. Allowing that hit to Hammel and cursing himself, and then the dong.

Thanks Lackey for returning me to my senses.

The poor sportedness is truly a pleasure to see. This has been their [expletive] birth right. And now it's gone. The sooner they realize that they're role has changed, the quicker St. Louis highways will be safe to drive at night again.

Hopefully that endears him enough to the FO that he won't be considered in the offseason.

Plus his temper tantrum on the mound and glaring into his own dugout after Rizzo's IF single, plus his threatening not to play for the $500k he agreed to in his contract for this year, plus divorcing his cancer-stricken wife. Hopefully that's all enough for a hard pass.
