    was just checking In to see people's thoughts on the Kimbrel signing, nice to see it devolved into some kind of anti-trump thread fairly quickly, I guess things are pretty much as terrible as ever... See you guys in a couple years when Trump is your president again...

    Oh god it's worse than I could have possibly imagined... Well, it could be worse. It could have been a MAGA hat (worst possible hat scenario IMO). Why the hell is he wearing a White Sox cap? Like seriously, he's from California and he's not Ice Cube. A MAGA hat is best case scenario. You don't want America to be great? Strange times... Why do you guys have to shove your political opinions into every post you make?

    Seems like the Mets would want Victor Caratini included since they don’t have a decent catcher and don’t look to have one any time soon right? I hadn’t seen him mentioned at all here. They might have to make a secondary deal for a backup catcher but that shouldn’t be to hard.

    Who are you replacing him with? Does it matter? Seriously it's not difficult to find a starter better than Chatwood. They should be able to find a trade for a serviceable 5th starter (Chatwood has proven not to be).

    What kind of arm does Amaya have? does he throw out a lot of guys? Pop times?

    Still some chance he adds some velo? hes young and kinda thin right? Eh, he's not really young. He'll turn 25 in September. But, he did add velo this year, so who knows, I guess? At any rate, 92-94 is just fine anyway. He definitely needs to be moved to Tennessee. I was thinking he was younger than that. Looking forward to seeing how he does in AA.

    He's been sitting 92-94 in at least some starts. Still some chance he adds some velo? hes young and kinda thin right? Not that there's anything wrong with mid 90s Iv'e read his changeup looks like a 12-6 curve, has anyone seen him in person this year?

    Lester is a "country guy that likes to hunt" and he seems to make it work. You don't have to go far from Chicago to find places to hunt. I hope he enjoys pitching in Colorado, although I don't think it's likely to go well for him there.

    Well this is disappointing. The Angel's seem like the choice if you want to hide. Arguably the best player in baseball has been invisible there for years. It's certainly not where you go if you are looking for marketing opportunities or if you want to compete for that matter. What a bizarre choice. The best choice if he wasn't going to play for us though I suppose.

    This is what I recommend, Iv'e done it and I find life much less stressful. Or do what these guys do, surround yourself with only people who think like yourself and run everyone else of by bullying them. That's what they do here at NSBB. Just stick your head in every now and then to laugh at them from time to time and enjoy the 2 or 3 posters here that have intelligent ideas.

    I'm not happy about the use of Lackey last night but I'm far more frustrated with this offense which probably could have played another 10 innings without scoring a run.

    I kinda figured going into this game we'd lose it, but I wasn't expecting to lose it that way. It should have been a win. I'll just have to get over the way they lost it I guess. I still feel sickened this morning.

    So is Maples really on the team? Today would have been the perfect game to give him an inning but instead they put Pena out there to walk guys and when they showed the bullpen camera dude wasn't even there (**edit I guess they showed him dancing in the bullpen earlier in the game, I guess that's why they brought him up, bullpen entertainer). If he's not getting a shot in today's game I dunno when's he will get one.
