  1. I'm not sure how it can be any worse. I mean there really doesn't seem to be any end in sight for this and it's likely they will come back from the break and continue the absolute terrible pitching. I guess if your searching for a bright spot at least we scored some runs tonight? lol On the one hand, you have a very limited imagination if you can't think of anything worse than a big lead at the break. On the other hand, you suffer from an amazing case of recency bias in assuming things will always be the way they are at this very moment. A big lead? A big lead was 10 games It wont be a big lead

I guess if your searching for a bright spot at least we scored some runs tonight? The Cubs have a 6 ERA since the slump started. If you think that's going to continue indefinitely then you can safely give up on the season. Yup, Im almost there

  4. So Dexter's rehab was setback. He decided not to play tonight or in the All star game. Maybe we'll see him by August, if we're lucky.
  5. Looks boring as hell. Not really excited to see any of those guys.
  6. The rash of hamstring injuries on this team has been beyond frustrating. I wonder if it's a training/stretching issue. This was originally suppose to be a mild strain that was only going to keep him out of the lineup for 7 days or so. This offense really needs a healthy Dex to get going again.
  7. I thought Jake said this wasn't going to happen again...
  8. How are you enjoying things so far? you are one stupid ball sack Yes, I was clearly wrong and completely of base with my expectation of Hammel this evening, please proceed with the name calling while I find something better to do with my time. Please enjoy the rest of the game.
  9. You're a very, very odd person who seems to be trying to not enjoy this as much as possible. I don't get it. Sports are literally watching people play a silly game. Why the hell let it effect you so much and what's the point in not enjoying things? How are you enjoying things so far?
  10. Did you see Hammel's last start? Do you realize that this is fortunately a sport where players aren't locked into performing like they did the last game? Yes, I'm sure he'll be just fine now, thanks so much for the info.
  11. Don't like our chances in this one, I'm going to try to avoid watching.
  12. I was hopeful. There were these long periods of time in the minors he'd go hitless and look lost. He's always seemed kinda streaky to me. I remember going back and forth with Rasin about his hitting. His glove has always been solid. He's certainly showed more power than I thought he would this year. I wish he'd take more walks but maybe he's never going to be an obp (although it's higher than I thought it was) guy. Your last sentence confuses me. Have you seen his walk rate this year? How many do you think he should be taking? That surprises me. I must miss his walks, he seems to walk at about the same rate as Baez, I hadn't looked at the numbers though so I believe you. Iv'e watched most games this year, although to be honest Iv'e been turning a lot off games of early lately.. I don't know how Iv'e missed it. How's his strikeout rate?

  14. Good lord, you people... Yes it was serious.
  15. Seems All-Star worthy to me
  16. I believe he was thrown out at the plate trying to turn the triple into a inside the park HR.
  17. I'm convinced they printed 100 times more Vance Law cards this year than any other player I had hundreds of this card That's 89 tops? or 88?
  18. Offense with the exception of Willson looks like horsefeathers today
  19. Again, do you realize what the division lead is? Bryant is damn good, but THAT good? Shut up, he's never going to play again and we're going to lose every game, but it won't matter, because we're going to die, and it's going to be awful. Yup
  20. Are you kidding? This team can't afford to loose it's best hitter for an extended amount of time. They have been substantially crippled by injury already. Your living in a fantasy world if you think an injury to Bryant wouldn't kill this team. Oh, also: Rizzo is still the team's best hitter. Bryant is a better overall player, but Rizzo is still a better hitter. I won't argue that because it might be true. I think losing Bryant would probably lead to our losing the division and having to scratch out a wildcard. This offense has had some real problems as it is scoring against even mediocre pitching losing Bryant just compounds that.
  21. Plus, WGN apparently can't afford any decent cameras. It's hard to get an angle low enough to see someone's spikes I guess. Just seems like they should get the benefit of the doubt on a play like that.
  22. Candy may have even felt his spikes slide across the base but the video didn't have an angle that would prove his spikes touched the base. It's ridiculous.
