  1. LaStella has been striking out a lot recently it seems.
  2. Okay - this isn't a fullblown meltdown here. I'm allowed to express mild disdain when our offense goes on a three-game slump against three pitchers who combine for league average performance, just like any other user. you are more than welcome to, you just sound stupid. It's one thing to lament at being in a slump, its another to act incredulous that this is a possibility. Ski, don't let these [expletive] get to you, you have every right to complain when they play like horsefeathers, part of being a fan is caring when they are sucking. We should be destroying the God damn Brewers, and the Padres and the Braves for Christ sake.
  3. 2 runs in each of the last 2 games, maybe 2 is all they get today as well. yep, they probably won't score more than 2 again the rest of the year. It's been 5 whole days since they've scored 8 runs, it'll probably never happen again. That is the way it feels right now.
  4. The offense has scored 2 runs in 4 innings. 2 runs in each of the last 2 games, maybe 2 is all they get today as well.
  5. Wow, that's just a terrible call for a bunt there, not with Ross and Lackey behind him, just let him swing away, chances are much better that he hits a sac fly or a hit there than that he gets a bunt down. I don't get it.
  6. What a god damn waste, why have Russell bunt there? Ugh! That was dumb
  7. The offense looks like it's picking up where it left off from last night
  8. Well that sucked, getting no hit by a horsefeathers pitcher
  9. I'm pretty much with TT on this. Bryant, Russell and probably for me Rizzo are off limits but anyone else is up for grabs. I don't think they will trade Trout though. It's made for some pretty entertaining trade chat.
  10. I'd feel differently if we were going to see a different pitcher than the one that has been dominating us all day. Also, I'm not complaining horsefeathers like this will happen from time to time you run into a great pitching performance.
  11. looks like Cole is going to throw a shut out
  12. Nice article on Almora in the Des Moines Register http://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/sports/baseball/iowa-cubs/2016/05/14/albert-almora-chicago-cubs-iowa-cubs-triple-a/84335296/ There's also an audio interview with Voglebach at the bottom.
  13. Today is my birthday. I demand a victory of epic proportions and I'd like a Baez dong if that's not to much to ask.
  14. Fly balls all day is not a good strategy
  15. Better command today from Jake, I like it.
  16. So the fact that Contreras wasn't selected in the Rule 5 draft two years ago counts against him today but Edwards' most recent BB/9 (6.7 last year and 5.6 this year) shouldn't count against him? And you're going to say this on his birthday?? How dare you! Look, I'm a big fan of Carl's Jr. I think he can make a good pro and his guacamole bacon burger is top notch. I hope his performance of late means he's regained his control but it's only been 5 games since he walked 3 guys in one inning. He's always been difficult to hit, but you can't walk guys at that rate and be a valuable member of a pen in the majors. Meanwhile, in Contreras' most recent 611 ABs (AA, AZ Fall League and AAA this year), he has 202 hits, 47 doubles, 4 triples, 14 HRs, 80 BB, 84 Ks with a .331 avg and a .412 obp. How much more of a sample size does one need? I'm glad I'm not the only one carrying the Contreras torch.
  17. nah, most of us are at work Yup, work is a horsefeathers
  18. Can he play LF? Most of these guys don't even believe he can play 1st base
  19. How'd that work out? Yeah bout like I thought. Your never rest players/rush prospects because of short DL stints thought processes are intriguing and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter. He's going to get rest today. Bryant could have been "rested" instead.
  20. How'd that work out? Yeah bout like I thought.
  21. Its fairly easy to question that lineup its missing our 2 hottest hitters, one of which is a very young and I'm sure fairly capable of playing 2 games in a day before a day off. Zobrist maybe I can understand. Addison not playing makes very little sense.
