Cincinnati born and raised, but I've been a Cubs' fan since the late 80's as WGN was my home after school almost every day. Listened to Harry and Steve (when he wasn't a d-bag) and fell in love with the team. Suffered through Will the Thrill in '89, Agon and Bako blowing it in '03, and the D-backs and Dodgers' Sweeps in '07/'08 (my son was born in 2008 so I mellowed a bit).

Am I missing something with Bako?

Welcome to the board also!

Bako's passed ball that let a Marlin (Pierre?) get to third. For some reason it's burned into my gourd. Much happier times now!

if were going to talk about 2003, I am going to bring up Pierre jumping out of the baseline, and we don't want that... trust me.

Imagine - if the Red Sox don't hilariously collapse in 2011, we probably don't end up with Theo. We probably wouldn't have a roster loaded with young dong smoths. We don't trade for Arrieta. This amazing playoff run so far probably doesn't happen.

Butterfly wings.

Discovered this board 5 years ago when I moved to Chicago. I feel like it's a select group of friends that went through the dark times. I've missed only a handful of games in the las 15 or so years and finding this board made the 66 win seasons bearable and this collection of Cubs have made the wait worth it. Wish I could've stayed in Chicago but alas such is life. Tonight was awesome and the coming DongFest en route to the World Series will be more awesome and I look forward to all of our overreactions

Man, this still feels like a dream. Wish my old man had lived to see this season. He'd be the happiest dude around.

Found this quote rather interesting in a Chicago Tribune article. It's about the home run Lackey gave up to Baez:

"If I had that one pitch to go back, I would definitely do something different," Lackey said. "A pitch kind of out on the plate to a hacker, and he ran into it."

Interesting because in his post game comments, Baez said he figured Lackey would spot a fastball on the first pitch based on Lackey's hissy fit after giving up the hit to Hammel.

The "hacker" schooled you, Johnny!

Did anyone else's dad call them as soon as the game ended and talk for like 40 mins? :bananas:

No, Mine's a White Sox and Pirates fan. I do not believe he wishes to speak happily of this
