You know...I get why there's a lot of angst over the FA signings this past few days, but I have to admit that I'm feeling better today than maybe I was on Friday. The Bears had a solid draft in April, brought in lots of high-potential depth on the defensive line, got upgrades at TE for their scheme (which calls for the TE to act as a third tackle, if I'm not mistaken), got younger and better at Center and at the #2 RB slot. I think it's clear that they are committed to Carimi, Webb, Williams for the long-haul, or at least the intermediate-haul, and Webb and Williams *did* improve as the year progressed last season. The Bears have gotten younger at 4 slots on the offensive line in the last year - that's something, and if these guys can play, they have 80% of a line for a long time, potentially. I'd still like to see them add another guard, some more depth in the secondary, and a WR, but I don't think I'd call this last week a "failure" (as some have) by any stretch.
