  1. Is the NLDS clincher on there? The ad I saw for the 8-disc set just mentioned the WS games plus the pennant clincher. This is what I desperately want to know as well...I've got all the WS games and Game 6 on my DVR, but none of the NLDS games. Honestly, I'd love a documentary package of the entire postseason - I want the pitcher dongs from the NLDS, Addison getting horsefeathers going in the NLCS, I want Javy doing all of the ridiculous Javy stuff in the first two rounds (getting picked off third and stealing home, for example). Someone go do that, please.
  2. I'm pretty sure I'll do that regardless of the outcome...
  3. We'll be a lot less nervous when Schawber hits one into the Cuyahoga. (note, this may or may not require a baseball to travel the entire circumference of the earth, which would be cool)
  4. Would love to see Lester pitching to Ross to close out a blowout Cubs victory in the 9th tonight. But I won't be picky - just win, please.
  5. So, if the wind is gonna blow that hard - who is the Cub likeliest to hit a Glenallen Hill rooftop shot? I'll take the easy one and say Javy.
  6. There is no angle from which you can look at this game and believe the Cubs don't have an enormous advantage...why the hell am I so nervous?
  7. I know I shouldn't read comments about the Cubs at other places (guess that makes me like a republican and this place my Fox news) - but man the number of "the Cubs are only doing this to boost his trade value" and "I can't wait to see him DH for the Yankees next year" comments I see other places just piss me off for some reason. If he was going to be traded to the Yankees, that would've happened already. Scharber isn't going anywhere but straight to the top of every offensive leaderboard in the National League for years to come. And maybe to the World Series MVP. :good:
  8. Up-Up-Down-Down-Left-Right-Left-Right-B-A-Start That activates God-Mode, right? (I'm showing my age, aren't I?)
  9. Jake's gotta get the "2015 Kyle Hendricks" treatment in this one, right? Third time through the order you pull the plug at the slightest whiff of danger?
  10. Agree - this was a really competitive 6-0 (if there is such a thing). Cubs hitters worked deep into counts, made their guys work. It wasn't Kershaw breezing through 10-pitch innings. Miller can't throw 50+ every night, and while Kluber was excellent, he's not getting that extra off the corner with every ump. I'm betting Game 4 doesn't go as well for him. All this did was go from the Cubs granting Cleveland a quick death to a long protracted one.
  11. Still check this place out daily (and have since discovering it back after the 2003 season), though I post very, very infrequently anymore. I love you all.
  12. Schwarbs hit made it 90% around the world? Amazing You forgot the word "only," Goony...
  13. Jeez.. think I've been here since '04, never was a super-active poster but I've checked this forum every day for over a decade. Wow.
  14. Been awhile since I've posted, but a true Garvey story – he came to speak at our local minor league team’s “Hot Stove” Banquet a number of years ago. Afterwards, he hung around for pictures, autographs, etc. I approached him and I told him how he made the 11-year-old version of me cry like a little girl. He laughed and told me I ought to hear the cursing he gets when we walks down Michigan Avenue. Signed an autograph for me that reads ”Dear Jason, I’m sorry about 1984. Your BFF, Steve Garvey” Still hate his guts, but gotta admit he was pretty decent in person.
