I'll be surprised if they don't go 4 deep. He's probably their best bet other than Lackey at this point. Lynn and Wacha have been flat out bad for a month now.

Yep, probably going Lackey, Garcia, Wacha, Lynn, Lackey for a 5 game series.

Wacha's been garbage for quite some time now. Wouldn't be shocked if he and Lynn are flipped.

Delete this thread if you must, whoever needs to start it go for it, I don't care, but the regular season is over, it's time to move on.

I don't watch the show, but my roommate made me watch this episode in college just so I would get this reference because he used it so often.

Possibly, I wasn't super confident when putting them in order since Lynn hasn't exactly been overwhelming recently either. Especially if the Cubs are the opponent since they drubbed him twice in September.

Splits don't mean much at this point, but this made me feel a little better about the game not being at Wrigley:

Arrieta at home: 9-5 1.97 ERA

Arrieta on road: 13-1 1.60 ERA

Cole at home: 9-3 2.83 ERA

Cole on road: 10-5 2.35 ERA

And nothing to do with location, but worth noting:

Arrieta in day games: 8-4 2.16 ERA

Arrieta in night games: 14-2 1.51 ERA

Cole in day games: 10-1 2.05 ERA

Cole in night games: 9-7 3.00 ERA

I'm with Gooney. Not worried, but getting excited.

I just wish it was a series, that's all. It will feel weird with either the Cubs or Pirates gone after one game.

What about the stats at on the road, at night combo? (On an odd numbered first Wednesday of the month)

When they win and we're all happy go ahead and feel weird all by your lonesome, weirdo.

For what its worth. Cubs open as a slight money line favorite of -130 and the run total for the game is 5.5

Moneyline implies the Cubs should win about 55.5% of the time.

Well, yeah, but that's not what betting lines are intended to do or predict

I heartily disagree. Betting lines make excellent sources of probability. The market is king. This line will get sharper once lineups are announced and limits are raised, but by game time the line should be an accurate estimation of each teams chances.

It's sportsmockery, so they probably stole this from someone else, but damn this video is good.

Isn't the first half from the Cubs Convention, or am I imagining that?

It wouldn't surprise me at all. They posted a vine that Mark Lazerus had originally posted the other day without giving him any credit or mention, and didn't understand why he would be upset about that. They're awful, and I wouldn't put anything past them.

We're about to go 1983 NC State all over everyone's asses. Maddon is going to be running around frantically trying to find someone to hug here in a month or so.

Not to get too far ahead of ourselves, but if we do reach the NLDS tickets for the Friday and Saturday games in St Louis are not insane. Pack that place in blue, please.

Funny you should mention this. I have a Cubs fan coworker with season tickets at Busch that just told me he'd sell me 2 of his bleacher seats for Friday at face value if the Cubs win Wednesday.
