Who is announcing this on TBS and is Len Kasper planning to be in the radio booth with Pat and Ron?

Ernie Johnson, Ron Darling, Cal Ripken Jr., Matt Winer

And yes, Len said on twitter he'll be on the radio.

Where is Jake (Pitt fan, occasional board guest Jake)?
Posted
I'm keeping the fatalistic Cubs fan side of me repressed.

Jake is the man. He's got this.

Gonna stay busy at work the next three days, drink heavily on Wednesday evening and all will be fine.

fatalistic Cubs fan side of me expects 7 shutout from Jake, we scrape out a run, but Strop comes in & walks 1, hits 1, and rat-face Cervelli hits a first-pitch gapper and we go softly into the night

This game is going to destroy me. I want to make the Divisional Series so bad, I just want to see this team get multiple games in the playoffs, it actually doesn't aggravate me that much that they will play the Cardinals and could lose in extra-heartbreaking fashion to the top rival. I just want to see this team get 3 more guaranteed games.

If we win on Wednesday, wanna bet you change your mind about that?

Do you consider starting Jackson in LF due to PNC Nat'l forest and his recent hot bat?

I would consider it, but Coghlan picked it up over the weekend with his bat making the decision tougher. It's a tough choice. Coghlan is better against righties..you could start Jackson and bring Coghlan in if we need a bat later or start Coghlan and bring in Jackson if we have a small lead for defense. The difference is if we started Jackson and PH Coghlan later, the Pirates would probably bring in a lefty, nullifying him and getting Jacksons D out of the game.

Cole has a reverse split, too. I could see the argument to start Jackson in LF and bring in Coghlan against a reliever.

I'm strongly leaning this way. I think defense/speed is more important in what should be a low scoring game. hasn't hit Cole and Jackson hasn't seen him. Throw in the splits and Coghlan is the 4th LH against a guy that's tough against them. And the Cards have no LH starters, so Coghlan will probably start every game of that series.

They have Jaime Garcia, and he's actually been really good.

I once was terrified about losing to the Cardinals in the playoffs, but in terms of bragging rights losing to them doesn't change much. Beating them, however, would be the best Cubs thing in my life. Well, until we follow that with a pennant win the next week.

Outside of Arrieta if you could pick one guy to be the hero of this game who would it be?

I'm having a hard time picking between Castro and Javy.

Because he's my favorite player and I'll be wearing his jersey during the game, I'd go Rizzo. But after the rough season he's had with the benching, it's hard not to say Castro.

Maybe. I don't think so though. I don't think I can feel more humiliated by a rival more than the 2010 Packers in the NFL Championship game, its completely dulled my capacity for those feelings.

Yeah I guess this sums me up about it. I feel like its playing with house money, we wouldn't be favored or expected to win, we're starting off on a decade of competitiveness, we can only really humiliate them.

TBS has streaming for playoff games, right?

I'm not sure I should be in public for this game ...

Last year they had streaming if you authenticated with a cable login. Just finished reading a Techgraphs article that said TBS hasn't formally announced anything for this year, but my guess is it'll be the same.

OK, cool thanks. I googled but was worried the blackout restrictions or whatever would apply. I mooch off my parent's login (so I'm still in some quasi-adulthood, I guess).

Forgot about him. But I figured he'd be bumped from the rotation anyway. Figured Wacha, Lackey, and Lynn would be their 3 starters.

I'll be surprised if they don't go 4 deep. He's probably their best bet other than Lackey at this point. Lynn and Wacha have been flat out bad for a month now.

Jake is on ESPN 1000 right now. I'd recommend catching a replay or something if you can.

That is one confident mofo.

Asked about what the team will wear on the trip to PItt, and he said "Joe says if you feel "hot" in it, wear it!"

Yep, probably going Lackey, Garcia, Wacha, Lynn, Lackey for a 5 game series.

TBS has a "Watch TBS" app, I'm assuming it would work with a provider login.
