Met a new Bear fan here the other day who seems knowledgeable enough, and is convinced that Cutler and the coaching staff will have to go. Says the players have given up on Cutler.

They certainly seemed like they gave up on something, whether it be coaching or the QB, in the New Orleans game. Against a much better Lions team, they protected the QB pretty well despite their obvious inadequacies. So did they play harder for Clausen to show their disdain for Cutler and to get ownership/management/fan base to further alienate Cutler?

The game against Minnesota will be interesting. Better "D" than New Orleans, but not as good as Detroit. Will the line open up the turnstiles once again or will they protect what is supposed to be their current and future QB?

That's meatball talk.

You met a meatball and you two had a nice big meatball session and came to a meatball conclusion.

Where were the receivers on this "play harder for Clausen" plan?

I find it absolutelt unreasonable to even entertain the thought that guys who are playing for jobs would try to not get those jobs.

Oh, interesting, I wonder what he had to say...

@MMehtaNYDN: Intriguing GM possibility for the Jets: Chiefs executive Chris Ballard. Feeling is Bears might be his top choice though. #nyj

@AlbertBreer: Also, word is Bears GM Phil Emery's issues in Chicago have been similar to Jets GM John Idzik's in NY. Building is too compartmentalized.

@AlbertBreer: If UofM doesn't land Harbaugh quickly, the Bears and Raiders are expected to be aggressive. And this thing is trending to happen quickly.

Isnt Harbaugh to Michigan a done deal?

Don't know how the Bears can hire a coach before a GM

Could be a Seattle situation where the coach has the final decision making and hires his GM, I guess.

Hmm... Those tweets are over an hour old so they might be outdated but I did just see something on the Fox ticker saying it wasn't official (though that could just be because of technicalities).

Unless Harbaugh is GM too

I was thinking this too, but all the rumors have Jimbo going to U of Mich...sooo

Fox Sports claiming Harbaugh to UM is done. He's supposedly flying there tomorrow. http://foxs.pt/1xqJ3zf

It may be, but this is by far the most pro-Cutler board I've come across.

You realize that by reacting to "meatballs" so strongly some of you come across as meatballs yourselves, right?

Weird then that the Fox ticker had Harbaugh not accepting Mich's offer during the first half.

It's done. His long time friends are even tweeting it's done. People connected to Michigan have been tweeting to make sure they come to the Michigan basketball game on Tuesday for a special introduction. The interim AD told the players this weekend to expect a coach hired by midweek, and I don't believe Michigan has formally interviewed anyone else. The most respected UM sportswriters are congratulating UM on the hire.

It's done but nothing is signed because Harbaugh is coaching the 49ers today, thus the reports that the Raiders are still in play IMO. it would take a monumental change of heart that would enrage the rabid fan base of his alma mater for Harbaugh to not be coaching UM next year.

That's the meatball version of "the REAL intolerance is not being tolerant of my intolerance."

Most sports fans are dumb meatballs.

No argument from me there, just having a hard time understanding the overwhelming Cutler bias.

Just an overreaction to all the Cutler hate. Unabashed love for Jay is meatball in itself.

Not acknowledging how much worse Cutler has gotten than he was when he got here isn't meatball, but it is wrong.

I don't think Cutler is really much worse. He seems to be basically an INT prone 80-90 rated QB no matter who you surround him with.
