  1. Shades of Lidle/Munson, if evidence shows he was piloting. What a snake-bitten franchise. And if they were out fishing, the irony...
  2. On Duckgo, that was easily the funniest pic after searching "legit friggin idiot"
  3. Well, I see that GRB has returned to it's previously scheduled implosion quite rapidly. NOTE TO "Free dabum/Free Meph POSTERS: GRB's new team did that, and it's worse than when Michael left. Trolls get bounced for a reason. Give Tim a break.
  4. Back in the deep, dark Hendry days, it was always a sure bet that the game threads would be 10x more interesting than the game itself, mostly because of Fred's understated, dry way of just finding numbers to compare one of Dusty's/Lou's horsefeathers -ups to something Durocher tried once. His take down of Roast was epic, and he was low-key one of the funnier posters here. RIP
  5. Was at the Hawpe game. I'll never forget the sickening "POP" it made off his elbow. Worse was the group of about 50 drunken clowns doing a conga line through the aisles not 15 minutes after it happened, and the fact they weren't immediately ejected. Infuriating day all around.
  6. So bringing up Reyes immediately has now become a common "get good quick" theme down here.
  7. The Cardinal's playoffs/total fail this offseason, combined with most of their membership becoming laughably born-again SJWs in the wake of Ferguson (seriously, I've read horsefeathers there that would make Melissa Harris-Perry blush), has made GRB one of my go-to sites when I need a laugh.
  8. Grichuk and Peralta?
  9. There's a reason Mozeliak is the one making noise on this. He's had one of the worst offseasons I've ever seen. Their true genius moved to Houston, but the best fans in baseball haven't figured that out yet.
  10. Hacked? I was getting warnings from Kaspersky & Mcafee.
  11. How is St Louis better off for an NFL team leaving the city? One step closer to just burning it all down and starting over. As opposed to that gleaming, progressive Constantinople of the Midwest, Chicago. But I agree. The Stadium site Peacock & Co. proposed was not viable. I wrote a post here over a year ago how StL has faced three "500 year" floods since 1972, and we just had another one over Christmas. Our region has a major problem coordinating the building/management of levees. But StL's biggest problem is brain drain. And the fact that half the city makes Detroit blush. The town is an absolute dump.
  12. StL's prior rep was based on the supposition that they can turn present mediocrity into future competence. That sure seemed to be true from 1996-2013. They only gave out five(!) big $ long term contracts for pitchers during that time. The Suppans, Lohse's and Bottenfelds of the world were lining up to play there for next to free. It's where the pixy dust myth came from, and this Leake deal (IMO) signifies an end of era.
  13. He's decent and it's a small contract. No need for spin. Please. You can't possibly be happy with that contract. If Duncan was still there, you guys would already have two or three similarly skilled pitchers (even if reclamation) on 1 year make or break contracts. He was a huge advantage for you the last 20 or so years. except duncan isn't there, the cards' starting pitching is pretty thin, leake is generally consistent, solid and healthy, and it's 2015, so those types of pitchers don't get paid $5 million a year any more. I agree. IMO it shows how far they've fallen in the post Larussa/Luhnow Cards' era.

  15. 5/80? http://replygif.net/i/1485.gif From runner up for Price to Mike [expletive] Leake. Couldn't have happened to a nicer fanbase. Can't wait to hear the spin on this one, you Birds on the Bat Cult fucks.
  16. Can only hope..... How the [expletive] does Grantland get the axe and his LIIIIDDDOOO ass still have a job?
  17. This whole thing basically boils down to a bunch of (likely) financially secure, tenured professors manipulating some (likely) financially insecure students to wage a proxy war against an administration they don't like, with little regard to to the consequences for those or future students, or the racial divisions that will arise. This isn't about some kids being called names (although a hunger strike against that is ridiculous enough). This is totally self-absorbed professors being totally self-absorbed professors. These short-sighted fools don't even see how their actions are just making the argument against tenure stronger.
  18. More context: http://www.columbiatribune.com/news/education/mu-football-players-join-concerned-student-protest-pledge-boycott/article_092e9684-85c3-11e5-942a-1bb95a885821.html [tweet] [/tweet] Where are the adults in all this? Is there no one in the room to let them know how counterproductive all this is, or have they (almost certainly) been shouted down? The only purpose these mandatory gender/ethnic/sensitivity courses serve is to drive costs up. In my experience, the only person in the classroom who WANTED to be there was the prof, and that was at one the most liberal universities in this country.
  19. Wait...Dusty is more charismatic than Maddon? And Maddon is a stiff? Seriously? Seriously. We're blessed to have Maddon, but let's not equate his contrived antics to Dusty's authentic (but calculated) folksy charm. Dusty's too funny to be that stupid.
  20. I'll always hate him for '03-'05, but I'm glad Dusty's back. He's probably as close to a Yogi Berra as this generation is going to get. Archaic, Shitty manager, but more charismatic than the other 29 stiffs combined. He'll [expletive] your team right up, but at least you'll get some great laughs out of it. His defense of Jeff Kent when Milton Bradley called him a "racist" was particularly memorable. Or his quip about Sammy's hop that almost turned a double into an out back in summer of '04.
  21. He's a truly gifted BS artist. Surprised he hasn't considered politics.
  22. LOVE how the ESPN Radio crew played soundbites from a jubilant downtown KC, and then brought up [expletive] Ferguson, and somehow managed to shoehorn in an Armoderez Green reference. Go [expletive] yourself
  23. Look at Torrey and Simpson waiving manically, before the ball was even hiked. And people bitch about Cutler.
  24. Goodish, I think. I mean, there are so many bad teams in the NFL this year that a 4-3 team looks pretty great 20 teams are .500 or lower right now. The NFL is a [expletive] show Carr, Cooper, Crabtree. A solid line and a decent pass rush. If Denver's D starts to falter, the west is theirs.
