We should all thank Kromer btw. I'm not sure we have real changes without that incident.

A source close to Mike Shanahan said he definitely has interest in coaching #Bears: chicago.suntimes.com/bears-football…

Emery getting fired increases the odds of the Bears cutting ties with Cutler, imo.

Cutler for QB/HC/GM

Awesome

No.

Emery would've been interested in keeping him to prove that contract was ok. But too many new people will want a fresh start.

I think that chance is gone now with Emery gone as well. That would've been a "for Cutler" hire...no reason for a new GM to do that.

Shanahan is probably the only HC that keeps Cutler in a Bear uniform.

QB is not a position of need on this team, and by turning it into a position of need, and with the many positions already needed to find improvement, adding that to the list spells doom for this team next year.

Finding a new GM that will willingly take on Shanahan as his HC seems unlikely.

I fear Cutler will be gone, too.

Get rid of Phillips too.

I think if he was out and out fired, we'd have heard about it. This has gone in order from top down. I think the best we can hope for is getting him away from football decisions.

Kromer officially fired. Duh.

The big question left is the position coaches. I can't see any of the coordinators surviving the initial bloodbath.

I am not convinced this team goes back to the President/GM/HC formula. They could hire Shanahan as the boss who brings in his own personnel department and coaching staff.

Yea that's definitely a possibility.

When we find out who this consultant is, should tell us a lot.

Position coaches under contract probably stay under contract until next guy decides who he wants to keep and get rid of.

I could see the CFL guys getting axed sooner- if not today, tomorrow. Guys like Pasquaneli, Groh, etc will likely live to meet the next exec and then have their fates decided.

QB is absolutely a position of need. The position led the NFL in turnovers. But the combination of Cutler's contract and the numerous other needs across the team push it further down the list of priorities.

I'd love to have an upgrade at QB. But I don't believe that exists as a realistic option in 2015.

Longterm it is absolutely a position of need. Cutler is either a placeholder for a couple years or he's gone. There's about a 2% chance he will be here for another 4 years.
