I'd love to see the final stats of DeCamillis' special teams unit. How many penalties on kickoffs, punts, starting field position, touchbacks, etc... in relation to the other teams in the league. Tucker and Kromer's units performed very badly, but I'm giving the slight edge to DeCamillis for worst overall season performance.

Yeah I would definitely say DeCamillis is the worst, even with the performance from the defense. Literally every special teams play was somehow screwed up. It was like the only thing he taught was that once the kicking team touches a punt, you can grab it and try to advance without the risk of fumbling it. As far as any other rules, who cares.

 

When we were looking for our head coach two years ago, I remember reading an article that said Joe D was a candidate for the head job. I searched him and found tons of cowboys fans absolutely hated him. I thought, "that's weird, how can people have such strong negative feelings for a special teams coach. I mean I knew the bears had had a good one, but how can someone be that bad at it." Man they were right.

They were the best kickoff coverage unit for a while based on per return average.

I don't remember ever hearing Virginia weigh in on firings

 

The whole impetus of moving Michael out of the president's position was because of Virginia's embarrassment at what the organization had become.

michigan's private jet is taking him to A2, but maybe he can leap out over Chicago and parachute into Halas Hall.

No idea. He has ties to Philly, Chicago and KC, so obviously a lot of coaches that also have ties to Lovie and Andy Reid, as well as John Harbaugh (the ST coordinator in Philly when Toub was his asst).

 

Brad Childress was on those Philly staffs and is currently with KC. Leslie Frazier was also on that Philly staff and could theoretically be given a promotion to assistant head coach if taken from Lovie's staff. Steve Spagnuolo would be another potential candidate.

Emery seems like a standup guy who was embarrassed by what became of his team and I would guess the Bears trust him to not be a dick in this press conference.
